British Speedway hits a new low
Taken from the Swindon website:
SWINDON and Coventry have mutually agreed to postpone tonight’s Elite League ‘B’ fixture at Blunsdon because a band of wet weather that is scheduled to descend on the South-West this evening.
The early decision will also allow Swindon captain Leigh Adams and Bees’ No. 1 Krzysztof Kasprzak to relocate to Poland to compete in tonight’s Play-Off fixture with Leszno.
The Swindon management are keen to emphasise that Adams would have ridden in tonight’s fixture at the Abbey Stadium had the forecast been more favourable.
The postponement also means that British riders Simon Stead and Chris Harris have the best possible opportunity to prepare for Saturday’s Grand Prix Challenge at Vojens, Denmark.
Swindon co-owner Terry Russell said: “This decision has been taken with the very best interests at heart. The heavy rain that is forecast means there isn’t a chance that the Blunsdon track will be suitable for racing this evening.
“There seems little point in keeping Leigh Adams in England for a meeting that will fall victim to the weather, when he could be competing for Play-Off success in Poland.
“All of our information suggests the meeting would have been called-off, so I’m sure that Swindon supporters will wholeheartedly understand that this early postponement allows Leigh Adams to continue challenging for major silverware in his final European campaign.”
A re-staging date will be announced shortly.
So we're confirmed as a third rate speedway nation, who bow down to Polish fucking Speedway.
