Edit: a bit more from Poole's website:
CHRIS Holder has signed a deal to ride for Castle Cover Pirates next season.
The Australian was unveiled to the press by co-promoter Matt Ford at Wimborne Road at 1pm this afternoon.
Holder is Poole Castle Cover's second signing for the 2008 Elite League campaign, after Karol Zabik put pen to paper on a deal ahead of Pirates' Craven Shield first-leg last Wednesday.
Edit: a bit more from Poole's website:
Promising Australian prospect Chris Holder has pledged his commitment to Poole Speedway by becoming the second rider to agree terms for 2008.
The 20-year old was signed by the Pirates during the 2006 season but preferred to build up his British racing experience by spending a highly successful 2007 campaign with the Isle of Wight, during which he won the Premier League pairs with Jason Bunyan, who accompanied him to today's signing session, and the Premier league fours, finished runners-up in the world U21 championship and scooped the Pride of the East trophy at King's Lynn.
Despite much maligned rumours that he was ready to join Elite league rivals Peterborough Holder put pen to paper on a 2008 contract and claimed "It was always in my plans to join Poole and to be honest when I read what was appearing in certain media and the internet I just sat back and had a quiet chuckle to myself. I am really keen to do well for Poole, I knew I needed a bit more experience in the UK before I broke into the real big-time. Now I am ready so bring it on."
