Former Belle Vue promoter John Perrin died at his home last week.
Not everybody's cup of tea but said it how he saw it and wore his heart on his sleeve. Kept Belle Vue alive and kicking when nobody else wanted to and managed to attract riders of the calibre of Jason Crump, The Morans, Kenneth Bjerre, Billy Hamill, Sam Ermolenko, Jason Lyons and Sam Ermolenko amongst others to the club.

As you say, not everyone's cup of tea, but John saved Belle Vue Speedway............if it wasn't for him I doubt the Aces would be in existence today......so a sad loss to the sport.
RIP John.

I remember talking to a bloke on the coach to Cardiff back in 2005. Can't for the life of me remember the guys name but he used to do a bit of spannering for Jason Lyons. He told me that between 2002 and 2004 John was doing everything bar riding the bikes on match days. So many people let him down that he couldn't trust anyone to do anything for him.
