POLISH talent Przemyslaw Pawlicki makes his Buildbase Bees debut in Friday's eagerly-awaited local derby against reigning champions Wolverhampton.
Pawlicki's first appearance gives extra spice to what is always one of the matches of the season, with Wolves looking to maintain a good start to the season.
Bees have raced virtually the entire campaign a man short so far following Christian Hefenbrock's injury at Peterborough on Good Friday, and Pawlicki comes in with excellent reports.
He finished second in his World Under-21 qualifier in Germany last weekend, dropping just one point from five rides, and Bees will hope he can add extra strength to the middle order as the team look to build on last week's win over Lakeside.
Bees boss Alun Rossiter said: "I don't want to over-play the expectations for such a young rider but we're very much looking forward to seeing what he can do.
"The only shame is that he won't be able to ride in the return at Wolverhampton on Monday, and before anyone starts jumping on the bandwagon it's a completely unavoidable situation.
"With the death of the Polish President earlier this month, the Polish Under-21 Championships had to be postponed, so he has to go back and race in that. It's just one of those things that nobody can do anything about.
"I'm looking for us to get another win on Friday, we need to build some momentum and obviously I know how important matches against Wolves are with the local rivalry."
Bees skipper Chris Harris returns to the team after Grand Prix commitments ruled him out last Thursday, whilst Richard Sweetman continues at reserve and racked up another paid-13 score in the Premier League for Birmingham on Wednesday.
Wolves are led by Swedish star Freddie Lindgren, the Elite League's top rider last year, and GP newcomer Tai Woffinden, who has taken over the captaincy at Monmore Green this season - and on Monday, they became the only team this season to take maximum points against runaway leaders Poole.
BUILDBASE BEES: Chris Harris, Przemyslaw Pawlicki, Rory Schlein, Ben Barker, Edward Kennett, Richard Sweetman, Filip Sitera.
WOLVES: Fredrik Lindgren, Ty Proctor, Nicolai Klindt, Joe Screen, Tai Woffinden, Richard Lawson, Ludvig Lindgren.
