Not a nailbiter tonight but some decent racing all round. Track was ok to start with but slickened off super quick. Eagles, bar Kylmakorpi and to an extent Gustafsson and Woodward, just not interested at all. Shocking out of the starts, struggling to pick the right spots to tackle the bends properly, staying down low after the dirt had moved out.
Aces
Andersen - Much, much better than his last home meeting. One iffy ride when he settled for third but apart from that solid.
Wright - Quality from Jimmy. Seems to have found some gating boots....and I nearly had to wipe my eyes with salt when I saw him attempting a pass ROUND THE OUTSIDE. Thoroughly deserved his heat 15 nomination.
Hougaard - Up and down again from Paddy. Super fast in his first one, looked woeful in his next and so on and so forth.
R/R - Paid 10 so can't grumble with that.
Karlsson - Solid if not spectacular. In his 2 wins he looked unbeatable, gave Woodward a good chase when he finished second. Got roughed up in heat 13 which led to his last place.
Lawson - Another good, solid home performance from Willie.
Lanham - Excellent night's work from Leigh. Deserved Man of the Match. Gating well and had bags of speed.
Eagles
Zagar - Simply not interested. Twice gave up on lap 3 when at the back.
Gustafsson - Battled hard for his points all night. Rode a great heat 8 for his win.
Dryml - Crap. No other words for it.
Woodward - Super second ride to beat PK. Was squaring up for a right old ding-dong with Hougaard in heat 14 until, it seems, a chain snapped causing him to high side it. Needs a freakin haircut though.
Kylmakorpi - Excellent value. Gating well, bags of speed and made himself very difficult to pass once out in front.
Kling - Pretty poor. Never really in contention all night.
Lampart - Harsh to comment as it was his first time at Belle Vue. Wasn't really off the pace much though.

Oh dear Gustafsson - Battled hard for his points all night. Rode a great heat 8 for his win. Dryml - Crap. No other words for it. The only good thing about this is that it keeps the boo boys at Arlington very quiet Noises from Eastbourne suggest that Simon is much happier and more confident after changing back to last seasons equipment and getting his first real points of the season with it, so hopefully we'll see improvements there. Zagar and Dryml are the only worries left now (apart from Lampart away but not much we can do about that ) In dreamland, I would get rid of both, bring in a 4 point rider to replace Dryml and replace Zagar with Nicki P In reality, I doubt anything will be done, apart from continuing our search for Gizatullin Next up away at Ipswich, where I fear the same result But then home to Coventry, with Shieldsy guesting for Zagar, has surely got to be our first win! Finally, good luck with the season youngy

I don't know what equipment he was on last night Mimi but he was one of the better performers for Eastbourne. He was gating well, wasn't lacking speed at all and his only downfall was lack of trackcraft but having only ridden there about 4 times I guess that was to be expected. He did look a little odd in the pits prior to the meeting though....a rare hot day in Manchester and Simon was wrapped up in preparation for a trip to the Antartic.
I think the less said about Lukas the better. One half decent race when Woodward beat Karlsson. As PK was all over Woody, Lukas was all over PK. Nothing prior or after that.
I hope your season turns round soon. I've been at Belle Vue in 07 and 09 so know what it's like when you know you're team isn't exactly the best around.
