Am noticing how quiet the forums are these days.....not just this one, but others - the Panthers one is unbelievably quiet! I know it's the close season, but there's usually still some banter going on. Am wondering if Facebook is taking over? With so many speedway groups and discussion boards on there now it's so easy to chat and keep up with news - with live feeds coming through from all over the place. What does anyone else think?

Actually Zonks I think you have a point....plus the fact that forums now seem to be the place for quite unpleasant goings on, instead of the good humoured banter of old.
At least on facebook, you can choose whom you speak to and cut out the nastiness that seems prevalent with key board warriors nowadays.
At least on here we don't have to suffer the keyboard louts, cos we can just tell them to get stuffed straight away.

the Panthers one is unbelievably quiet! My source says that possibly the most prolific poster ignores the forum it and has another project. Coupled with that Panthers are spreading their electronic fanbase thinner than a weightwatcher buttering the morning toast. We seem to think we're Man United but we're aiming for a fanbase to match Rushden and Diamonds. Good job we've got a rich owner.

This is 2010 - we're simply moving with the times.

Whether it works or not over the long term when it's no longer new has still to be decided (the interesting stuff will be elsewhere because the new initiatives are only corporate news channels after all although the Fans photos on Facebook is refreshing atm). Moving with the times aimed at who specifically? If it encourages the crowd size to increase to or beyond the break even figure over the next 3 years then yes it works but knowing Peterborough as I do I'd think Posh's chances of winning the FA Cup are better. The things that will increase this year's attendance are a team that look like they should go places, the return of some Fridays and whatever Oakes comes up with in his complete entertainment package.

Has to be said Zonkers that Rigsby is right As far as I am concerned if the plan and proposed entertaiment package, brings the team some much needed successand boosts the Showground attendance then PO will indeed have done what he was brought in for. Should know the answer to both questions by September

Should know the answer to both questions by September He's here for 3 years initially though so that's the benchmark. The first 18 months are the easy bit as Colin Horton proved. To be fair though they are making to right noises.

Sometimes you get riders on good starting averages and sometimes you dont, 2010 looks good with a number of Panthers on low averages, we might not get such a good opportunity in the following 2 seasons.

And in the next 2 season we will have Dakota North, Taylor Poole, Linus Eklof & Rene Bach coming through the ranks... and a new press officer!! ;D
