At this time, it appears that a couple of my favourite riders have no place in British speedway. Piotr's nemisis once again appears to be Troy Batchelor, and although was expecting to line up for the Horrors now has no club in the UK at this present time, although should injuries occur, I'm sure he will soon get fixed up, but really sad he's not over here for the start of the season. Worse I feel though is Chris Schramm, a young Brit who took the bit between his teeth in 2008 and went EL with the Witches, fully expecting to double up with a PL club, but the wise one's in the BSPA decided no D/U in 2008, so Schrammy survived in EL alone, by also having 3 other jobs. In 2009 the Mildy/KL fiasco resulted in Chris becoming an assett of the Chapman's at KL and he was duly signed up for 2009 KL, fully expecting to D/U at Foxhall however once again the wise one's deemed he had to use his EL ave for D/U and therefore it was too high to be included in the team, but he had a truly excellent season with KL winning all those trophies, 2010 duly beckons and once again Chris was hoping to D/U EL and PL, but the poor lad has no team in the PL so far this year an absolute travesty I feel.

I am quite surprised to hear Swidders expected to line up for the Panthers in 2010 even though he is an asset - he was a popular member of the team and still has many fans at the EoES. I and others hoped he would return last winter and again this close season - but being realistic I expected to see him announced in the Lakeside team or back with the Witches.
Chris Schramm's situation is equally sad although looking at the number of PL teams still to complete probably not quite as dire as Piotr's yet. Another of many crazy situations within this sport that you just cannot explain to outsiders and find embarrassing to do with newcomers.

I have my fingers crossed here Badge, that Denis the Russian has failed his English test/can't be bothered to race over here, and we sign Schrammy up. If he wants another full season in the EL, as I can't see Bobby Dee using D/U.
