Wasn't a revived Sauber also on standby if another team dropped out? Yes, but Toyota signed the Concorde agreement, so I'm not sure if they can just replace them on the grid? The FIA are seeking "urgent clarification", at any rate. Whatever, it's given the FIA a chance to gloat. They're saying the cost cutting measures they originally wanted to implement (the ones that nearly caused a breakaway formula) would have avoided this scenario. Renault are also considering their F1 future, and Bridgestone have given notice of their intention to pull out at the end of the 2010 season.
