details from Panthers website: a Panthers select side turn up for the Monmore party (it didn't say that, that bit was me)!
Wolverhampton Parry’s International Wolves v
Peterborough Readypower Panthers
Monday 26th October – Midland League
Peterborough completes their season with a daunting
Midland League trip to Monmore Green on Monday to face
the Elite League Champions Wolverhampton.
Having lost at home to the Wolves on the 8th October the
Panthers appear to be second favourites to clinch this
year’s Midland Championship but are intending to do
their best and improve on this years previous two league
results there.
The Panthers probems don't just end there however as
although Wolverhampton are at full strength the Panthers
are missing Kenneth. Bjerre, Ales Dryml and the recently
injured Henning Bager.
Bjerre is due to have a full medical check on the leg he
broke last year whilst Dryml is also committed with
medical checks in the Czech Republic.
Panthers will again use Troy Batchelor to replace
Bjerre, the young Aussie impressed the management the
last time he rode for the Panthers at Coventry and have
brought Lakeside,s Stuart Robson in to ride at reserve
in place of Bager.
Rider replacement will be used to cover for the missing
Ales Dryml but Kenneth Hansen and Claus Vissing are back
from their USA trip and are included in the Panthers 1
to 7.
Team Manager Trevor Swales said: "Whilst this is our
final meeting for 2009 it is still a meeting that we
will be trying very hard to win. We accept that the odds
are against us faceing the 2009 league champions who
have not lost at home this season and indeed only droped
1 point in there home meetings we will endevour to win
this competition,It would be gret to finish the season
with a big win and this is our final chance to reward
the supporters for there loyalty to usWhilst there will
be no pressure on us as many expect the result to go in
Wolves direction,it`s up to us to turn the form book
upside down. Nothing less than a win will be good enough
as we lost the home leg in a meeting that ended at heat
12 with the loss of Henning for the rest of the season.
We all wish Henning a full and quick recovery." :
Owner Rick Frost said: "This is our last meeting of the
season and what better opponents than the 2009 champions
to end our season.
:We need the four points to win the Midland League and
why not .Surely they must all be tired out by now from
their recent exertions! Anyway a safe evenings racing to
all the riders and a well earned rest until next season.
A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all”.
