The announcement is that Mick Bratley is leaving the club.
Peterborough ET Speedway: Peterborough Panthers promoter Mick Bratley will leave the club following their final meeting of the year on Monday.
Bratley, who has been involved as commercial manager and latterly as promoter since 2005, will sever links following a season-ending Midland League clash at Elite League champions Wolverhampton on Monday. He also worked for the club in 2003.
Bratley declined to go into detail about the reasons behind his departure but confirmed his decision has been accepted by owner Rick Frost.
He is adamant he will remain in the sport and revealed he is currently mulling over a host of offers to operate with clubs at both Elite League and Premier League level.
Bratley told The Evening Telegraph: "I am not 100 per cent happy with certain things at the club and have decided it is for the best to move on.
"I've been deliberating my position for around six to eight weeks and have now arrived at my decision, but it is not my style to go public with any more than that. The reasons should remain in-house.
"It has been an honour and a privilege to be involved with the club during some excellent years and it is definitely my intention to remain in the sport.
"I have several opportunities and I fully expect to take up one of them in the next few weeks."
Bratley, who claims to have generated more than £250,000 of revenue for the city club, briefly resigned last year during the long-winded takeover fiasco between troubled previous owner Colin Horton and Frost.
Bratley confirmed he will continue his association with Panthers asset Hans Andersen – the spearhead of the club's unforgettable 2006 title success. Andersen has been linked with a return to his parent club in 2010.
Bratley added: "Hans is a great friend of mine and my involvement with him will certainly continue. Hans will ride where he wants to ride in 2010 and I won't be influencing his decision."
Panthers owner Frost said: "Mick is moving on to pastures new. We thank him for his efforts for Peterborough Speedway and wish him well for the future."
When asked whether he will appoint a new promoter to replace Bratley, Frost added: "We may well do."
