Just seen this on the BSF (courtesy of "micman")........ might be worth a look.....
We thought you would like to know that edited highlights of the Olly Allen Testimonial meeting from Coventry will be shown on Motors TV (Sky 413) from
Thursday the 15th and will be repeated about 9 times over a two week period.
The original DVD is over 150 minutes and we had to get this down to 96 mins plus breaks but all 21 races are included plus some of the special interview
we recorded at "Allen Towers" a few days before the meeting.
Just so you don't expect it to compete with a "Sky" production, here are a few things worth noting. . .
It's not a Sky production! biggrin.gif That's about it really. . . .
We filmed this meeting as a favour for Olly and when the opportunity came up to have it shown on Motors we thought "why not?" however, we didn't have full
broadcast kit available, didn't have final cut pro for graphics, and didn't have any eye candy doing the interviews - that job was down to me! biggrin.gif
When you consider that we had a budget of zero pounds as all of the crew gave their services free for Olly, I don't think we did a bad job at all and thanks to Ken
and Jackie who travelled up from Eastbourne, Alan who came over from Lincolnshire and Tracey for running around with the only full size broadcast spec camera
we used on the day!
Here comes the science bit for the forum techie experts who really won't sleep without knowing this stuff . . . . .
We filmed using four cameras - a mix of full size DV cam and mini DV tape and edited the entire programme using Premiere Pro.
Two of the cameras decided that they were going to play silly beggars - one developed a tape head problem and then decided to invent it's own aspect ratio for
widescreen and another switched to progressive scan when it should have stayed on interlaced.
Don't worry if this has now drifted into another language - it's really to stop the critics telling us what we should have done - 'cos we already know! icon_smile_tongue.gif
Our commentary team consisted of David Rowe, Rory Schlein and a guest appearance from World under 21 champion Darcy Ward.
Hope you enjoy it as a meeting but if not, make sure you visit our other site "comparethemikemen.com" - Simples!
