I've seen 2007 mentioned as another example of success
We did make the play-offs granted but then blew the best opportunity I believe there was under the old play-off rules of an away win at Swindon:
"And Kenneth Bjerre did not escape a scathing attack from team manager Swales either after his return of five points from four generally below par rides.
“You don’t stand a chance of winning any meeting, let alone a title if three of your top four riders perform like that,” said the Peterborough team manager.
“Scoring 10 points between them is a miserable effort and that is where we lost it.
“I am more than disappointed - I am seriously annoyed about the way we lost the meeting.”
