SWINDON'S Elite league campaign continues on Monday (31 August) when the Robins host Poole at the Abbey Stadium.
THE SWINDON promotion are urging speedway fans throughout Wiltshire to descend on Blunsdon for Bank Holiday Monday’s Community Celebration evening when, on-track, the Robins host 2008 Elite league Champions Poole.
Robins’ Co-owner Terry Russell explains:
“Swindon Speedway has developed into an integral part of the local community and we are very proud to support many worthwhile causes.
We are expecting a large Bank Holiday Monday crowd, and those in attendance won’t just be supporting the Robins, but also the Prospect Hospice who we’ll be raising money for during the course of the evening.
We are also admitting members of the Armed Forces, NHS, Fire and Police service to the meeting free of charge if they display their relevant identification at the turnstiles.
Alongside this, we are also welcoming the Pride of Swindon nominees and their families as a thank you for all of their achievements”.
There will certainly be a party atmosphere at Blunsdon on Monday! The Robins’ riders are scheduled to take part in a pre-meeting autograph session in the stadium foyer at 6pm.
This will be followed by autograph sessions with Swindon Speedway’s Sporting partners, Swindon Town Football Club and the Swindon Wildcats Ice Hockey team between 6.30pm and 7pm.
Members of the popular “Over the Top” stunt team will be performing their spectacular motorcycle routine from 7pm.
Prior to this, the first 100 children through the turnstiles will receive a free air horn and there will also be face painting available in the foyer from 5.30pm sponsored by Kidz About.
Donations to the Prospect Hospice will be welcome from parents whose children do get made up.
Turnstiles for the meeting will open at the earlier time of 5.30pm with riders’ autograph session due to commence at 6pm.
