"I have spent a lot of time in America and when you go to a sporting event like a baseball or basketball match over there, you are treated to a whole entertainment package.
"And that is something I feel we need to try to emulate. We are looking into providing entertainment before the actual racing and are also exploring the terms of our 10pm curfew."This'll please Riggers !! Seriously......this is great news, and what the fans have been saying for a long time !! That is good news. I remember when the Showground hosted an event (maybe the pairs?) and had loads of entertainment. There was bar flying, music, a collector's event, etc - the place was heaving. I still think there needs to be a major advertising campaign for the sport as a whole, but if one club gets results that can only be good for everyone.

I actually find Thursday nights a struggle (and the less said about Monday the better) and would much prefer a 7.30 start and 9.30 finish. Just make those two hours slick ie no hanging around and riders always announced to the crowd before they're sitting at the tapes and we're trying to work out who the programme change is etc No bloody birthday tunes or Cheggars Plays Pop from the PA or bloody awful rider tunes: some are ok but some are shite Traditional parade with bikes at the tapes and hopefully a victory parade to send us home happy, simples

I want more for my admission fee than 15 heats of rushed racing, where you've hardly had time to write the scores down before the next riders are at the tapes. I agree with Frost - he's got some great ideas - the entertainment being one of them. I still don't understand why you want it to be all over by 9.30??

And I'm the only one with the key and my line managers says that if you're roaming the streets in your pyjamas during the early hours again in 2010 I'll be in trouble

I want more for my admission fee than 15 heats of rushed racing You perhaps need to switch to Coventry then because they start late and stretch it out tediously with the added bonus of in joke man on the PA. More noise and activity at the EoES You can see the letters of complaint from the local residents now: "we know we bought a house near the showground but we didn't expect extra activity" And if they want to encourage more fans then open the Dunblane entrance for incoming (I don't belive that it is but I may be wrong )

We can only hope that Hans signs (not out of the question I believe!) For a team that's reportedly lost 200,000 quid in the last couple of seasons, despite the sponsorship boasts of mr3awards? Just how much more money is Rick Frost prepared to throw down a black hole>

Just how much more money is Rick Frost prepared to throw down a black hole> Well, he was quoted as saying he could sustain those losses for the next 20 years.........if he wants to!! Read into that what you will.

Well, he was quoted as saying he could sustain those losses for the next 20 years.........if he wants to!! Whether or not it's true, the question is whether he's willing to do it? Businessmen rarely make their money through throwing it away on hopeless causes, and I also seem to remember a certain Lord Flapperjack making similar boasts.

The EoES is the black hole so unless RF can get the dates and reasonable rental then it does appear to be a piggy bank with no bottom

(whats the limit for 2010?) Rick Frost said: “The agenda for the Agm is fairly extensive and no doubt the burning question is what the team building average will be for 2010. As things stand under the three year agreement, of which this will be the third and final year, it should be 40.95. However there are whispers around that it may be raised to 42.00 or 42.50.We shall know the answer to this by the weekend and the scramble to get riders` contracts finalized and signed will begin in earnest. boro site
