David Gordon stated that the Aces lost £5,359 in the year to December 2008 on income of £467,704. Gordon expects the losses to be of a higher figure for this year but he does have high hopes for the future. It was also reported that gate receipts are down by 20%. This was taken from a business magazine called Crains. www.crainsmanchesterbusiness.co.uk/apps/pbcs.dll/section?category=toc but once you click on the link it takes you to a page to become a paid subscriber. £5,000 in 2008 is not that bad considering we ran most of the season with guests and r/r. I'd take a guess that the highest grossing meeting of the season was the 80th Anniversary meeting which saw the stadium pretty much full. No surprise to see gate receipts down this season. If a certain J Crump was riding at No.1 that figure would have been 0%. It was the same in 2007, a quite noticeable shortfall in the crowd which was only increased when Poole were in town. I wonder why, oh yes they had that fella J Crump in the team. It's never good to be making losses but when you consider what other sporting attractions Belle Vue are up against then I guess you could say it's not bad at all and, added to the fact, they only make money from gate receipts, programme sales and SKY. Merchandise money goes to Enjay, Food, Beer and Car Park money goes to the GRA.
