COMPETITORS in Olly Allen's Testimonial at Brandon on Sunday August 23 will be racing for a top prize of a GM engine. The event will be decided in a winner-takes-all Final involving the meeting's top four scorers, with the prize generously donated by sponsors AF Engineering and Elmside Transport. And former Coventry squad member Troy Batchelor will be one rider with his eyes very much on first place, having confirmed his appearance in the meeting. Batchelor was the Buildbase Bees' No.8 in their 2006 Knockout Cup winning squad and has now progressed into a genuine Elite League heat-leader - and his double-figure score, including three race wins, in Ipswich's recent narrow defeat at Brandon, showed that he is fully over his recent injury problems. Veteran Joe Screen will also be racing, back on the circuit where he won his first of two British Finals back in 1996, and they are joined by two current Rye House riders - Rockets skipper Chris Neath, and Olly's younger brother Tommy. The remaining competitors in the 16-man field will be named over the next week to ten days as the International calendar becomes clearer. Supporters are reminded that normal Elite League admission prices apply for Olly's meeting, with the parade at 12.45pm and the first race at 1pm sharp. Riders confirmed so far: Tommy Allen, Ben Barker, Troy Batchelor, Chris Harris, Steve Johnston, Edward Kennett, Chris Neath, Joe ScreenFrom: www.coventrymotorspeedway.com
