Just got this week speedway star and was amazed to see nothing of hortons tricks and oxford last week >
It begs the question did it happen ? has it been swept under the carpet ? is the speedway star scared of horton ?
Why is a big story like that not been reported on ?

And after you bought it especially for that. I call that a scandal. Mind you, it does save me from coughing over the readies for it. Thanks hortonfan.

Hortonfan, Mr. Allen Trump wants Oxford Speedway to rise above its recent past - and therefore a certain person will not be mentioned in anything I send to the Speedway Star on behalf of the club. The new Oxford Speedway needs an integrity that has been missing - and it wouldn't look good to start the club's new life to get involved in a slagging match with the previous incumbent. Horton has departed from Oxford, why should I give him the pleasure of taking up the space that should be used to promote the revival of the club? On the other hand, if any fans wanted to write a letter to the Speedway Star, then feel free. The email for letters is: star@pinegen.co.uk You need to include your full name and address - I expect to see a letter from a Mr. Farrar!! All the best Rob

The new Oxford Speedway needs an integrity that has been missing The Spar also needs an integrity that has been long missing. One would have thought any half-credible rag would have seen fit to mention the passing of the promoter-who-shall-not-be-named in its lead editorial.

Used to be one in Belford, but it's now a Co-op. Anyway, Mr Rising is probably too busy kowtowing down to John Postlethwaite ahead of the British GP to be interested in events at Oxford.

All the best Rob Rob it's not up to you report on these things i understand you would rather write not write bout horton that is fair enough. But i think it's quite a big story and something that the star should report on instead of a pro horton crap on page 3 saying why people give him stick .if they had written about what happen on sunday then people might understand why .

You are bang on, hortonfan (shit name by the way!!) what a load of old cobblers, "witch hunt" my arse, well done to the P/boro fans for stopping him from walking away, sob sob. Christ it nearly made me chuck up. Really hamming it up for the old sympathy vote I think. 'Sympathy' as everyone knows comes between Shit & Syphilis in the OXFORD dictionary.

'Sympathy' as everyone knows comes between Shit & Syphilis in the OXFORD dictionary. In fairness, there's an awful lot of words between shit and syphilis in the Oxford English Dictionary.

well done to the P/boro fans for stopping him from walking away, sob sob. He-who-cannot-be-named is clearly a very sensitive soul, poor love. Imagine worrying what the twelve (sic) posters on the BSF think about him?

What is the point of further dragging the Oxford name through the mud via Mr he who cannot be named. Totally agree-Fresh start all for the best for Oxford. If he wants to make a fool of himself then fine but dont reckon Mr Trump is in the slightest bit interested in all that type of thing. (There you go schumi-I posted) Edit: Edited per the request of young Nevs.

What is the point of further dragging the Oxford name through the mud via Mr he who cannot be named. I can understand the Oxford promotion and associates wanting to focus on the future, but I find it incredible that the mid-season closure of a team (and a top-flight one at that) didn't warrant any editorial in the Spar.

The closure of Oxford did get extensive coverage in the Speedway Star. What didn't was Horton's alleged attempt to block the first meeting of the Trump era. I can understand that Trump doesn't want young Peasley using up Oxford's allocated space in the Speedway Star to cover Horton's antics, but surely the Speedway Star had a responsibility to provide some coverage of this? And not just in some attempt to reflect badly on Horton - he clearly felt that he had grounds for acting as he allegedly did and the Speedway Star should've been able to clarify matters. As it is, you're left wondering if it really happened or not, just as Hortonfan says.
