It looks as though Jonathon Chapman has submitted a written proposal to the BSPA for the continuation of Conference League action at Cowley this season. No one can argue with the results, both on and off track, achieved by the Chapmans at the Norfolk Arena. If the family do assume control at Cowley, the Oxford fans might actually be in the unusual position of being promoted by people who actually know what they're doing.

Lynn do have connections with Oxford. In 1996 when Lynn didn't run, Buster was named as co-promoter at Oxford. Probably more to do with maintaining his promoters licence than anything else but it does mean that they have some knowledge of what the fans there want. I've not always agreed with all that Jonathon has done but no one can deny that he is a breath of fresh air for the sport and has achieved results at Lynn on and off track. Contrary to what some folk think, he does listen to fans points of view if they are put to him in a reasonable manner. Well he's always listened to me Listening doesn't mean he will always agree ;D

Would agree that Jonathon has done a lot for Lynn, and certainly has plenty of ideas to 'promote' speedway. He has certainly developed a thicker skin to criticism than in his early days at Lynn and as SL say does listen and accept there may be an 'alternative' view better than in the past so perhaps now is the right time for him to branch out alone, albeit at CL level just to 'test the waters', hope it works out for both parties
