I can't see how it could be extended as it would encroach on the stock car track, and I can't see Spedeworth allowing that to happen.
Any Witches got any info on this one?

I emailed the promotion last week about this and recieved a reply 2 days later from Chris Louis himself. Thing is, as it was a personal email i'm not sure i should be putting it on here or any other public forum. Would it be wrong to do that??

I guess it's up to you, but if he replied it can't be a big secret. Maybe it wouldn't hurt giving us the gist without actually copying the email? But I don't know what others think.

The stadium owners have been consulted and the stadium management have also agreed to the proposed track changes this closed season in time for the 2010 campaign. The kerb on the inside of each bend will be taken in by five metres and the kerb down the straights will be taken in by 1.5 metres. Once the kerbs are moved then the work to relay the track and improve the banking etc will commence.
A working party has already assessed the work required in terms of drains being moved etc, so it looks like it is finally going to happen. Personally I think over the years Foxhall has provided its fare share of exciting racing, but bear in mind that it is the machinery and technology that has advanced leading to a difference type of performance out of the speedway bikes. And if the technology is not going to go backwards (which we know it won't) the the only other solution is to alter the track shape to be more suitable for the power the machines are putting down onto the shale.

I wonder given the track's record with injuries of late means that the insurance on the place has been hiked up thus it's good for both parties to make the investment.

Chris said on the radio last week (friday) that it was being looked into again as it has been done so several times over the past few years. Nothing was set in stone at the moment and costings, logistics etc were being investigated. He wanted to make it the best track in the UK and they were looking into making it more rounded & wider? I`m sure if you go on BBC Suffolk website there may well be a recording of the interview in full. edit found the link. www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p00389q9/BBC_Radio_Suffolk_Sport_Matchday_Preview_05_06_2009/not sure where in the broadcast the interview is because cant listen to it at work, but from memory it is about 10-15 mins in.
