"Lakeside co-promoter Jon Cook is looking forward to a series of changes which he feels could help the club become a top flight outfit ahead of schedule."
This is the opening paragraph from this weeks' Speedway Star....... well, given that we were originally working to a three-year plan, the first of which has gone, I can only assume Young Cookie feels we'll be capable of lifting some serious silverware in 2008!!!

Right Kev, you have started, so you will finish. I don't get the speedway star as I bought a years supply for someone else and I never get to see it in case I cut out Han's picture

Well I for one certainly agree with him if he does. If, as speculated, the team includes AJ, Adam, Joonas and Ricky, surely we've got to be in with a shout.

Right Kev, you have started, so you will finish. There's nothing to finish braveheart - naturally Jon Cook is subjected to the same news embargo as the rest of the promoters within the BSPA, and unlike some of them, he hasn't betrayed the confidence he's been given.

If Jon thinks we're in with a shout, silly! Doh! ;D Gotcha. T'management have today been quoted as saying we could probably name five riders for next season right now, but until the points limit etc is confirmed no more news will be released.

I think we just need to post this to other promotions and say "Look and Learn"

But similar to the Peterboro thread sometime ago, without actual figures it doesn't mean a thing! may well an increase from 10 to 25 season tickets sold for all we know. but well done for the increase all the same.

It's not similar to the Peterborough claim at all as the figures can be substantiated...........have a look at the Jon Cook interview on the Lakeside site, and he says exactly how many season tickets were sold previously.

And as a public service, because I'm so generous, the figure quoted by Jon Cook was 197, which, if my mathematics is correct, means circa 490 this time around.

Bloody hell, that's more than some teams get in their stadia on race nights.
