LAKESIDE boss Jon Cook is toying the idea of placing Joonas Kylmakorpi at No.2 in his line-up to form a powerful opening-race combination. Either Andreas Jonsson or Adam Shields will take the Hammers' No.1 race-jacket, and Cook feels that his team could secure several first-race 5-1s with Kylmakorpi in support. The other side to the equation would be that Jonas Davidsson would come in at No.5, with responsibility for riding with a reserve in three of his four outings, and Cook is of the opinion that this could bring out the best in the Swede, who has so far been unable to replicate his Swedish League and World Cup form in the UK. Cook said: "We open up with two challenges against Poole and that will let us look at who rides well together and how we should go into the season. "I like the idea of making Jonas our number five for the away leg at Poole. Lots of people seem to think Jonas is the key to our season so I've been trying to work out how we can get the best from him. "It would leave us free to use Joonas as a superstar second string. With him partnering Andreas or Adam, I can see us virtually guaranteeing 5-1s against all but the big Grand Prix stars, and that pairing will beat a lot of those too." I think Jon may be right about Jonas Davidsson needing more responsability.........my prefered line-ups would be:-
Away
1. Adam Shields 2. Joonas Kylmakorpi 3. Andreas Jonsson 4. Leigh Lanham 5. Jonas Davidsson 6. Lubos Tomicek 7. Ricky Kling
Home
1. Andreas Jonsson 2. Jonas Davidsson 3. Adam Shields 4. Leigh Lanham 5. Joonas Kylmakorpi 6. Lubos Tomicek 7. Ricky Kling

Kylmakorpi moves to number 5 for the three meetings in two days over the Easter weekend.

It had to happen........the experiment was worth it, but logic prevails..........Joonas Kylmakorpi is the best third heat leader in the league, and it makes sense to capitalize on that.
