Which should mean Joonas is confirmed too, as he had a similar deal to Shieldsy!!!

And young stanley's "Happy Hammers" become the first Elite League side to name their full team.

That's a decent looking line up they have too.
Glad JD has been fixed up with a club for 2008. Despite his previous record he did us proud last season and in all honestly looked a different rider to the one who's ridden over here before.

Yes, I'm glad Jonas has been fixed up too. If he can replicate a bit of the form he produces in Sweden he'll be a handy rider to have. I know he's a bit of an enigma, but under Stanley's wing I'm sure he'll be fine.

I saw Jonas racing a lot in his Oxford days, and he always looked promising to me.
I also saw him ride in the Scandinavian GP at Malilla in 2005, and he was a revelation.
A good solid looking line-up in my view, and there's lot's of potential for improving averages (dramatically in some cases). Lakeside will certainly be entertaining in 2008, of that, there's no doubt!!

Jonas looked a lot more consistent at Reading last year and was also still putting in the odd big score. You can never be sure with him, though. Could do either. With Jonsson in the side, it might help him settle.
Not sure it's a title winning side, but could make the play-offs. Good luck to them.

Maybe 38.85 ain't so low, if you can put a team like that together under the limit.

This side is a much better prospect than whatThe Eagles have with their 6 named so far. Most of the riders in this team can perform away, whereas Nicholls & to a lesser extent Richardson are the only 2 at Arlington who may be consistent enough away from home.Possible play off contenders.

Far be it for me to disagree...........but i will ;D I don't think you can rely on Tomicek,Kling,Davidsson and Lanham to perform well away from home. And of course you have to worry about Joonas and his injury problems. Also looked on his web-site the other day at the Q&A bit and it does seem he will be going all out to win the Longtrack crown.Even putting in extra practice before the season starts

And of course you have to worry about Joonas and his injury problems. Hopefully that will be behind him. His shoulder injury has been well documented, and finally, after another knock to it in August, Joonas had the operation he'd been putting off for ages. I believe to operation has been a success, and therefore wouldn't expect JK to be more injury prone than any other rider.

FINNISH star Joonas Kylmakorpi is relishing his return to full fitness after two years of shoulder injuries. Kylmakorpi had corrective surgery towards the end of last season after dislocating his shoulder an incredible five times, the injury severely denting his chances of success in 2007. His form the previous year, before the injury problems, had several observers talking of him in connection with a possible GP place in the future, and now he will seek to regain that level of performance. Kylmakorpi said: "I had the operation in August, which gave me time to be ready for the start of the season. If I had waited, having the operation would have meant I wouldn't have been able to ride until April. "I think a dislocated shoulder is more painful than breaking a bone, and I was worried about it happening again. I got to the point where I couldn't lift a coffee cup without being in pain, so I had to do something about it. "My shoulder wasn't that tight even before I dislocated it the first time, so they've made it a bit tighter. It's better than new and the doctors say the result has been 100 per cent good." LAKESIDE are looking to hit the ground running this season - and plan to get plenty of practice time before the tapes go up in mid-March. The Hammers kick off their campaign with Challenge matches against Poole on March 12 (at Wimborne Road) and at home on March 14, and the promotion have shelved plans to take in practice sessions in Southern Europe in favour of spending more time at Purfleet. Co-promoter Jon Cook said: "We were considering an overseas jaunt, which would have also been a good bonding exercise for the team, but Andreas (Jonsson) suggested the team would benefit from some serious practice on our own track. "So we're changed the arrangements to have several behind-closed-door practice sessions at Arena in early March before the official press and practice day. "We are looking to win our group of the Craven Shield so we go straight into the final and have the chance of winning something. To do that, we need to be fit, focused and ready to go on our home track and that's where the practice sessions will come into things." Lakeside have been grouped with Ipswich and Peterborough in the round-robin stages of the Craven Shield, and were also made the early joint-favourites for the Elite League title along with Poole by some bookmakers.
