I guess they still haven't told Coventry how they decided their team is illegal, apart from "because we said so".

Coventry have shot themselves in the foot over this. Instead of getting down to sorting this out, they decided to play to the gallery and have allowed things to drift into June, when increasing averages of their existing riders mean that it is going to be an awful lot harder to shuffle the global superstar into their pack.

This just gets more & more ridiculous. So Coventry had been told their team is illegal, but not why their team is illegal. And they've been penalised, but somehow hold onto the three points.
I don't care if it's Poole's fault or Coventry's fault or CVS's fault or my dead guinea pig's fault. The fact is the remaining creditibilty the Elite League had is quickly dimishing. The days of the BSPA governing themselves must come to an end - before the Elite League disappears up its own arse.

Coventry haven't been told anything of the sort. The SCB has correctly determined that Coventry's team for the meeting against Ipswich had not been approved. I personally believe the BSPA has made the correct decision and to see this episode descending into another Coventry versus Poole spat on the BSF is unfortunate. The basis for all decisions should be fairness for all competitors and in this instance it is clear that the decision is fair for all. The average limit should not have been increased to 42.00, but presuambly clubs pressured the BSPA Management Committee into sanctioning such a move. In those circumstances it is essential that the Management Committee carefully scrutinise any re-declarations and block those that are manifestly unfair to other competitors. And Coventry's clearly was. I see no problem with the Management Committee monitoring averages and on that basis and without giving any other reason blocking a proposed re-declaration. They blocked Poole's, they blocked Coventry's. Poole, to their meagre credit, took the blow on the chin and made such changes as were necessary to appease the Management Committee, while Coventry decided to huff and puff, while new GSAs were released that made their task that much harder. They cannot now re-declare on the initial averages gained following 12 meetings, but have to re-declare, if they see fit, on the club's June GSAs.

There is a lot of merit in that as a suggestion. However, those who have a Glod aren't too happy about it. For those of you wondering what the hell we're writing about, Ryszard Glod is the uber-boss of the Polish Ekstraliga - it's commissioner. What he says goes.

A few years back when I moaned (at length ;D) about the bloody silly play offs being told by several people that all clubs knew what the rules were before agreeing to ride in the league. Surely the same applies to Coventry re the "MC have to approve a team" rule?
Or am I oversimplifying?

Coventry and Sandhu have, of course, previous history with the BSPA Management Committee, but on that occasion they did at least have right on their side. This time around they are thoroughly and completely in the wrong.

Bloody hell...it gets worse! No wonder he's trying to deflect attention back towards us today.

Bloody hell...it gets worse! No wonder he's trying to deflect attention back towards us today. I've got to say, Bobby D has been the highlight of the Elite League season so far. His interventions have been often weird and always wonderful. The man is a complete funhog and should be knighted, if not enobled - Lord Bobby D of Arlington has a good ring to it, don't you think?

The art of good comedy is all about timing. With Cov now some 20 odd days overdue from the original 28 payment deadline, the timing of Bobby D's statement with Coventry due to Visit Arlington is pure comic genius...

Coventry have axed Jordan Frampton to accomodate Scott Nicholls.
Unbelievable dropping a young British rider who has done well so that a rider who turned his back on British speedway can get back in!
