SWINDON'S two leg Knockout Cup semi final against Lakeside has been scheduled to take place on consecutive days. The first leg of the tie will take place at Blunsdon on Thursday 11th June, 7.30pm The secong leg quickly follows at Lakeside's Purfleet raceway on Friday 12th June, 8pm The Robins are expected to track a full strength side for the Abbey Stadium leg of the encounter. However, Alun Rossiter's side will be without Leigh Adams at Lakeside on the Friday as the Australian will be in Copenhagen preparing for the Danish SGP. British International Edward Kennett has been drafted in as a guest replacement for Adams. Elsewhere, the Swindon reserve trio of Cory Gathercole, Ryan Fisher and Richard Sweetman are all in action for their Premier league clubs. Therefore a suitable guest rider will be slotted into the reserve department to partner Krzyzstof Stojanowski. www.swindon-speedway.co.uk

Will Young Stanley be ordering a new covering of pink paint for the away changing room, I wonder? ;D

I think having Kennett actually makes Swindon stronger. I've seen the comments on the Swindon forum that it was poor planning to allow this meeting to go ahead before the GP, but around the Arena, and taking Leigh's current form into account...

Kennett is an astute choice (clearly Rosco had nothing to do with the decision ), but trust me, there is no better rider around the side of the lake than Leigh Adams

Swindon should win by enough to take to Lakeside on Friday. Swindon just had the aggregate edge in the league matches, so I'm hoping for an improvement for the Cup.

Swindon should win by enough to take to Lakeside on Friday. Swindon without Adams will need to take 20 pts + to take to lakeside . With the side swindon have to put on friday it should be a walk in the park for the lakers .

It all seems to hang on Zagar. Gorzow seem to think he'll be riding for them on Thursday, but have said Swindon have threatened him with a fine and a three match ban if he doesn't turn out for them. Presumably, if he chooses Poland, his ban would be effective for the Friday and that would leave Swindon without Zagar and Adams then. Although I suppose they'd be granted a facility, it's not the news Swindon fans will be wanting to hear.

Not that the ko cup means much these days anyhow

Was meant to be going to the Friday meeting, but since someone else in the office decided they have to leave early for an appointment (conveniently shortly after an HGV/Trailer thats been problematic goes for MOT so they wont have to deal with it if it fails), I cant see how I'll be able to make it. Ah well, maybe I'll visit some day.

No - he'd have only got a ban if Swindon had been granted a facility. Looks like Rosco's thinking of the league title rather than the cup - that's fair enough.
