As reported on www.worldspeedway.com I'm sure any positive support for this project would be appreciated.
The Planning Application for the proposed new sports complex at Beaumont Park has now been submitted to Leicester City Council and duly been recorded with a planning reference number allocated.
Public notification of the application appeared on page 34 of the Leicester Mercury on Weds 20th May and is now also on the Council's website at rcweb.leicester.gov.uk/planning/onlinequery/MainSearch.aspx
where you need to key in the reference number, which is 20090571.
Any correspondence to the council supporting the application must
quote this number AND be submitted within 21 days otherwise it will
not be considered. We ask that you please do your bit as members of
the supporters club and formally support the application sticking to
these guidelines. Whilst we as speedway fans have a natural priority
towards the re-birth of the Leicester Lions, we also advise that you
state your support for the fact that this project is a much needed
multi-sport facility offering a wide range of community benefits to
the people of Leicester, and most especially those of Beaumont Leys.
This, without question is the most exciting news that we, as the
Leicester Speedway Supporters Club, have received since the closure
of Blackbird Road, and most especially since our ongoing campaign was
re-generated over two years ago. Finally, we have been advised the
planning process usually takes between 8-13 weeks so we now await
news on what he hope will be a successful outcome with much
excitement.
