Gdansk have opted not to replace the Pole and have their fingers crossed he'll recover in time to ride for them at the end of April. Are any bookmakers giving odds? I've got some cash spare that I was going to put on Panthers but Zabik is a certainty.

So Zabik has by all accounts quit as a Panther ! Those Peterborough supporters who like to voice their criticisms, will no-doubt be doing so, whilst others will be on the defensive and closing ranks as quickly as possible, many non Peterborough followers will delighting in the Panthers misfortune and happiest of all will be Matt Ford and his Pirates, who will be revelling in the body blow to their only serious challengers for the title....................But who is really at fault here ?
I don't know Zabik, but i am going to assume he is not doing this out of any malice, he sounds like a much troubled lad who is unable to stand by any commitments he makes.......so i don't blame him. I also don't blame the Peterborough promotion, they are in the business of winning matches and ultimately the title, and when the carrot is dangled, of a competent rider on a low average, i can understand their actions..........so who do i blame ?
Well that would be the BSPA, and their fucking stupid rule book !
This is BRITISH speedway, and for British speedway to survive it needs as many BRITISH riders as possible, and the BSPA need to accommodate as many of them as possible. British riders need to be available on reduced averages, and have the opportunity to double up. Promoters need to find themselves in a position where signing British talent is their first thought. If British riders have more opportunities, they will make more money, and more money will encourage more to take up the sport, and surely everyone can see the sense in that ?

Seems sensible enough but gets messy when you add in "they are in the business of winning matches" - and not losing money can be added in there. The BSPA will not cut off their nose to spite their face.
Zabik does appear to be troubled but the fault lies with Peterborough for going near him yet again. They've loaned out a points machine yet again so why not Zabik until he proves his reliability?

They said last year that we didn't win enough races, especially 13 & 15, so if money is no object then why haven't we got a recognised no1. We appear to have all of the same problems but with potentially a longer tail.
We're once again hoping that riders outperform. Let's hope that you're faith in Oakes is rewarded because Swales and his team didn't deliver last year. Our dealings with Andersen (if that situation is true?) and reliance on Zabik have created a self made problem but allegedly there was a good turn out at P&P so perhaps it will not make too much difference at the end of the day in terms of developing Panthers long term?

I think everyone can rest easy unless he's seen in action anytime shortly or is pencilled in for Panthers 2011.
Standing there talking to one of the scousers doesn't indicate fitness IMO.
