According to the BSPA website (so it's probably wrong), Comrade Louis this week welcomes Bobby D and the Eagles from Arlington to Moscow on Orwell, so the big question will be: will he, or won't he? No that's not will Bobby D commandeer the kremlin's tractors and indulge in some insane tractor driving, it's will Damian Dryml show up? Last time the Eagles were scheduled to visit Moscow on Orwell, the Dryml did show leading to mass cries of "bloody hell, Dryml's here, it'll going to rain". And sure enough, it did.

Sadly, I won't be there to see the miracle of Dribble at Foxhall.
I'm going to see Dave Spikey at The Regent instead. Half price tickets for NHS staff. Marvellous!

As far as I can gather the Eastbourne team is: 1. Davey Watt He has been testing in Poland, is apparently now able to hold on to his bike. 2. R/R for Floppy 3. Lewis Bridger 4. Cameron Woodward 5. Lukas Dryml 6. Ricky Kling 7. Chris Schramm Should be an easy enough home win.

The thing about testing in Poland is that the tracks in Poland are easier to ride - they're big and you're not having to turn the bike as sharply as you are on most British tracks.

Swiderski place secure says Louis
Last updated: 21/05/2009 10:30:00
IPSWICH Witches promoter John Louis has said Piotr Swiderski's place in the Witches line-up is secure, despite the Pole experiencing a desperate run of results.
Swiderski, who took the speedway world by storm in 2008, has endured a miserable run, which has cost the Witches points, as they continue to languish in the bottom three in the Elite League table.
But Louis won't have Swiderski put down - for now at least - ahead of tonight's Elite League clash at Foxhall against Eastbourne.
“I feel a bit sorry for Piotr to be honest,” Louis said.
“He turns up in good time, has a big smile on his face, goes about getting himself set up well, but it just isn't happening on the track.
“Don't get me wrong, we are not happy about his scores and it is up to him to work out what on earth is going wrong. We are supporting him all he can, and Chris (Louis) has looked at some of his bikes.
“It's a dilemma for him and us. But I was a rider once and I know you have got to work things out yourself.
“But Piotr can ride, he knows he can ride, and at the moment his place is secure, we want him to come good.”
Swiderski's low scores have seen the Witches throw away points at home, as visiting sides pick up a point for losing by less than six.
And with Hans Andersen joining Poole Pirates yesterday, the Witches 2009 season is going to need to start to get moving.
Poole, the current Elite League champions have moved to strengthen their side with Andersen joining Bjarne Pedersen and Chris Holder in a heat-leader trio which is sure to fire the Pirates up the table
It means the Witches will need to begin to claim three points on a regular basis at Foxhall, as well as pick up a few points away, if they are also to follow Poole in the right direction.
But will the Witches make changes?
“If we want to make changes, we will have to make multiple changes,” Louis added.
“People say there are loads of riders about, but not second strings. Yes, there are plenty of GP riders who haven't got a club, but just bringing one of them in isn't easy, it would need more than one change.”
Tonight the Eagles are hoping Davey Watt is able to race. He suffered a groin injury at Lakeside last week and didn't ride in Sweden on Tuesday night.
David Norris is also out with an arm injury, while Chris Schramm returns to Foxhall as one of the Eagles reserves.
Teams: Ipswich: 1 J Hampel, 2 L Lanham, 3 T Kroner, 4 D King, 5 P Swiderski, 6 D Staychra, 7 C Wilkinson.
Eastbourne: 1 D Watt, 2 R/R, 3 L Bridger, 4 C Woodward, 5 L Dryml, 6 R Kling, 7 C Schramm

Manuel Hauzinger was the first Berwick rider to arrive at Armadale last season - I think he arrived about eight hours before the meeting started, but just lasted 50 yards when it came to racing. And that was just about that for his Berwick career.

The Eagles kept it very close until the interval and then a couple of decisions went against them and they collapsed, with the Witches taking a comfortable win: IPSWICH..531..J Hampel..3,3,3,3,3 = 152..L Lanham..1,0,1,0 = 23..T Kroner..0,1',3,3 = 7+14..D King..3,2,1,3 = 95..P Swiderski..3,1,3,1,1 = 96..D Stachyra..1,0,1 = 27..C Wilkinson..0,2',3,2',2' = 9+3EASTBOURNE..371..D Watt..2,3,0,2,2 = 92..D Norris..R/R 3..L Bridger..2,2',2,2,0 = 8+14..C Woodward..1',3,0,1',1,0 = 6+25..L Dryml..0,0,2,2,0 = 46..R Kling..3,0,0,1 = 47..C Schramm..2',1,1',2,0 = 6+2Taken from: www.speedwayupdates.proboards103.comThree points staying in the Kremlin, where Comrade Louis' son and heir is now having a few practise laps alongside the global superstar - is Louis Jnr going to be his latest mentor and official crash helmet carrier?

More meetings is what he needs not another member of the 'Yes' brigade. Nope think Loobie was testing one of Scott's engines TBH, and Scott testing......himself The sooner Scott ditches all his hanger on's, and starts thinking for himself again the sooner he'll be able to ride that bike again. Just my opinion of course Oh and I know Jarek was voted FJ last week, but tonight's score by him just tells the story of why we Ipswich folk just love the little guy

From the Eastbourne Argus:- Watt slams official as Eagles are beaten Eastbourne Eagles skipper Davey Watt could be in hot water after revving up his machine in front of Foxhall Stadium clerk of the course Keith Barton at Ipswich last night. Barton made an official complaint to referee Paul Carrington after an eventful heat 11 that swung the meeting the Witches’ way. In return Watt blasted the Ipswich officials and called them ‘unbelievably unprofessional.’ Until then the visitors had looked capable of gaining something from this Elite League contest. But they then conceded two 5-1’s and three 4-2’s in the final five races to slip from just 31-29 down to be swamped 53-37. Watt’s troubles began when machine examiner Fred Cotton reported him to Barton as the riders were lining up for heat 11. Chain guards that are now on the market with a gap in them have recently been outlawed by the authorities. Watt had taped up the offending hole, but this had slipped off, and the Australian was asked to re-tape as he was preparing to start. His mechanic obliged, but when the tapes went up Watt was left trailing and while well adrift held one hand in the air appealing to the referee to order a re-start. When this did not happen, Watt rode round to the centre green start area and twice revved up in front of Barton in an attempt to spray the official with dirt. “I have made an official complaint to the referee,” confirmed the long-serving Barton. “Stones could have struck me in the eye and I could have been blinded. “Despite his frustration there was no excuse for Dave Watt to take it on me.” A furious Watt stormed: “I am astounded that Ipswich have been able to run while having such incompetent officials. “It was unbelievably unprofessional. They berated and hassled me on the track as I was waiting to race. “A second can mean the difference between first and last, and to top it all the start was unfair and it led to the downfall of our hopes of winning. “If people question my actions my answer is that they only have to look at the events leading up to them to understand my frustrations. “Speedway is my job and it is dangerous enough without being hassled like I was. The tape came off, and some new tape was put on.“ Rider replacement for David Norris accrued just two points, and when Cameron Woodward rode for double points in heat 14 Eastbourne’s luck was out and he trailed in behind the home pair of Daniel King and an in-form Carl Wilkinson, who failed to score in his opening ride and was then unbeaten by an Eagle. Eastbourne scored a 5-1 in heat two with ex-Witch Chris Schramm following home Ricky Kling, and they achieved another maximum in heat seven when Lewis Bridger rode exceptional well to shepherd round Woodward ahead of Piotr Swiderski. This put Eastbourne two points ahead and they remained very much in the hunt until Watt hit trouble in heat 11. After the meeting former Eagle Scott Nicholls did some laps and so did Chris Louis, who has not ridden a bike in earnest since breaking his upper arm 12 months ago. And compound his woe, Watt was fined £50.00 by the stadium owners for his antics on the centre green Also what he has failed to say is that he was trying to con Swidders into touching the tapes by moving at the start, but as happens with a lot of riders this stunt back fires on them. A bit of handbags at dawn in the pits too, between the big bald guy from Eastie and Keith Barton.
