Dear old Rosco has warned the misfiring members of his team that the club's co-owners, the Orange Dictator and Gary Patchett, are "getting restless":
Alun Rossiter has warned Swindon Robins misfiring stars they face being axed from the Abbey Stadium line-up unless they start delivering on their pre-season promise away from Blunsdon.
Fuming Rossiter held an impromptu team summit in the pits at Wolverhampton’s Monmore Green Stadium last night after a comprehensive 53-41 defeat at the hands of the table-topping Wolves.
Before the campaign, the Swindon management hoped that they would be able to retain the original line-up right the way through the 2009 season.
But after a second successive road trip that failed to yield even a point, Rossiter conceded his paymasters - co-owners Terry Russell and Gary Patchett - were “getting restless.’’ Skipper Leigh Adams (13) and reserve Ryan Fisher (paid 11) carried the fight in the Midlands but, despite an improved showing from young Croatian Jurica Pavlic (eight), the rest of Swindon’s middle order flopped again.
Rossiter admitted: “We had an honest and blunt discussion afterwards about what is going on and I just said to them that the management are getting restless.
“We cannot accept scores of three or four from our middle order and if it goes on there may have to be changes.
“If I was a football manager, questions would start to be asked and that is what is happening now. Gary and Terry are getting restless and you cannot blame them.
“We need to see a hungrier and more determined attitude. The lads have been told that and now we want to see it from them.’’
