I see the rumour mill is predicting Screen and Hurry to have poor meetings tonight to establish their 2009 GSA.

All I can say 'is just bloody ride!!!' Season is going to be half over before people stop talking about various riders dropping averages for one thing or another. Can't we just get on with it. If we're shite as a team this year, then we are. Live with it.
Sorry jwrn, that's not a rant at you. just this damn stupid situation, which is p'ing me off more every day.

I see the rumour mill is predicting Screen and Hurry to have poor meetings tonight to establish their 2009 GSA. I think it's only assessed riders whose averages change when they meet the fixtures criteria after the "qualification" meetings for averages have been ridden. So Screen's average could change only when the next official GSAs come into effect, which would be June 1st, 2009. But we're getting into dangerous waters now. The Elite League would lose what little credibility it has left if Poole somehow manage to effect meaningful changes to their team, scrape into the play-offs by finishing sixth and then win the thing. To be sure, Outraged of Dorset and his disciples would be over-joyed, but their "bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahaha" would be ever so hollow. They'd probably realise that themselves, after the initial euphoria had given way to more sober reflection.

If they win the league even by bending every rule possible there would not be a tad of remorse .

And a somewhat suspicious return to form for the Pirates, as they easily brush aside the challenge of the Hammers: POOLE..521..B Pedersen..3,2',2,2',0 = 9+22..A Dryml..0,3,2,1' = 6+13..J Screen..3,0,3,2 = 84..D Davidsson..2',2,2',1' = 7+35..C Holder..3,2,3,3,2 = 136..C Stonehewer..3,1',0,2 = 6+17..P Hurry..2',0,1',0 = 3+2LAKESIDE..411..A Shields..2,3,1',1 = 7+12..J Davidsson..1',1,6,2,3,1 = 14+13..L Richardson..1,3,3,3,3 = 134..J Kylmakorpi..R/R 5..K Nieminen..2,1,1,0,0 = 46..J Hart..0,0,0,0 = 07..S Robson..1,1',0,0,1,0 = 3+1Taken from: www.speedwayupdates.proboards103.comGood all round from Poole, with even the reserves getting among the points. But the Hammers very poor - a three man team, effectively. Nieminen begins to look out of his depth and certainly shouldn't be in the critical No 5 position. He belongs in the Premier League, I suspect.

Personally I think there is something definitely "off " at Wimbourne Road, something stinks Mind you, those peskies hardly troubled them really.

Lakeside weren't as strong as I expected them to be admittedly, but the real difference tonight, is that the temporary contract riders of Hurry and Ales scored well, and Stoney finally chipped in with some points. The rest scored round about what they have been scoring at home recently. So whilst the debate about our 'manipulation' continues to rage, it seems funny that the three riders whose positions are under threat, and who wouldn't affect any future team building average, are the ones to make the difference.

Nieminen begins to look out of his depth and certainly shouldn't be in the critical No 5 position. He belongs in the Premier League, I suspect. But look at his home results - 15, 9+1, 9, 9+1... It's his first year in the EL and he's finding his feet, plus, he shouldn't have been there anyway, but those scores are more than respectable. Too many injuries meant Jonas and Joonas' averages dropped last year - either one of them could and should be at 5. But the reserves were the disappointment. Would be interesting to know why Hart was in after his 0 from 4 at Newcastle the other day.

The rest scored round about what they have been scoring at home recently. Well, recently being last week. The scores of the Dullard and Davidsson are a massive improvement on recent weeks at Wimborne Road, but I suppose the two previous meetings (before the Belle Vue one) were tonkings at the hands of Wolverhampton and Coventry. But the point is well made, Lakeside were very poor and their reserves do appear much weaker (away from Lakeside) than Poole's.

I will reserve judgement until after the match at Peterborough tonight, if Poole have a stinker its game on.

Well don't get too carried away...DD is historically cack around there so if he has a stinker it's just par for the course. Bjarne should be good for around 10 and Holder also. Ales is quoted as saying he was doing well there apart from one meeting after which he was dropped and i've no idea how the reserves are likely to go.
Besides...if the jungle telegraph is running correctly, it seems that P'boro might be about to indulge in a bit of manipulation of their own to get Hans back in.
Interesting times...

Exactly........Kauko is currently averaging 6.32 from all official meetings, which is a very respectable figure for someone who is riding most of the tracks for the first time.......he's doing very well thank you!!

Oh really, I dont think its Peterborough that are trying to include Hans.
