Looks like the erratic princeling is heading back to the circus as "wild card" for the Swedish Grand Prix at Gothenburg:
Poole club asset Antonio Lindback has today been named as the nominated wild card entry for the FIM Swedish Speedway Grand Prix which will be held at the Ullevi Stadium, Gothenburg on May 30th when the competition enters its 3rd round.
24 year old Lindback who retired from the sport in 2007 before making a comeback for Elite league rivals Belle Vue has resurrected his speedway career this season under the expert eye of six times world champion Tony Rickardsson and has put in impressive performances across Europe to prove he is ready again for world championship racing.
With the Castle Cover Pirates looking at their options to strengthen up over the next week Lindback is the sort of calibre of rider that many Poole fans would love to see back at Wimborne Road, but Poole chief Matt Ford remains tight-lipped as to whether the Braziilian-born fans favourite is in the frame for a Dorset return but commented "I am so pleased for Antonio to be back in the GP's albeit for one meeting only at this stage as he is an immense talent and it is no secret that I hold him in high regard and I have said in the past that I would never rule him out my plans, but there are so many things to take into consideration when building - or as we are going to have to do, rebuild - a team. At this point of time I cannot say one way or the other how the team will look but it is so clear to everyone that we need to do something to keep the season alive."
