The last meeting at Gubbis? "the green and white team reached a draw in the meeting that might have been the last for the team at Gubbängen speedwaytrack. "Gubbis" is an old "classic "arena but is also in a very poor, almost ramshackle, condition and there are rumours that the team will move its enitire organisation to Eskilstuna (Smedstadion)." www.svenskmotorsport.com/nyhetsarkiv/article497636.ecei really hope they stay in Stockholm because i do not want them here as i doubt that there are enough spectators and sponsors for two teams and if they would move here Team Bikab/Smederna would have a harder time finding sponsors. Its hard enough for one team to find sponsors but with two team... no way it would work. So as far as i am concerned i hope that they stay far away from Eskilstuna.

comment: 1250 spectators saw Valsarna qualify for the final and ElLitserien with a 14 point victory tonight. So a welcome back to Elitserien to Valsarna!! Valsarna were forced to do some changed compared with the original lineup since Robin Aspegren crashed yesterday in a Division 1 meeting. However Robin Törnqvist who was moved up to nr2 and Anders Mellgren was stepped in at nr 6 both did a good job in this meeting and Valsarnas victory was never jeopardized.
Örnarna won with 10 points over Solkatterana and i recon it will be a tight meeting tomorrow. Daniel Nermark rode for the first time since his injury but the scores (3p from two rides) suggests that he might not be fully fit yet.

Solkatterna lost the return meeting too and failed to make it to the final.
The final will be held on Thursday and Friday in next week between Valsarna and Örnarna. They will ride in Mariestad at Örnarnas track on Thursday and at Tallhult, Valsarnas track on FRiday.
Just a few days ago SVEMO said that they might consider to promote just one team if one or more teams from Elitserien pulls out.

Just a few days ago SVEMO said that they might consider to promote just one team if one or more teams from Elitserien pulls out. I think they're going to have to. I've already voiced my doubts about Solkatterna going up, and now it's looking likely Team Bikab won't be fielding a team in the Allsvenskan, they need to make sure there are enough teams in all of the leagues. It's no good having a strong Elitserien if there are only a couple of teams in the Allsvenskan.

The jr riders will leave if Bikab continues in Div1 as they feel that they cant develop more in Div1 because of the weak opposition. The only good meetings during the season were those against Gasarna, Gnistorna, and Team Hagfors. But those are teams that have many Allsvenskan riders in their squad. I dont think beating Crossbone pirates with 70-26 is especially developing for the boys. regarding Solkatterna i have my doubts as well but i also doubt Valsarna have the money need because they said that they want to lower the average cap to 36 from 42. I take that as they want to lower it because they cant afford recruiting the riders needed.

I hear they want to tempt Zorro and Max back. Not sure Zorro will want to go down that road again after being stung the last time, and Max's best years are behind him - he's okay as a reserve, but that's about all.

Zorro wanted Smederna to partner with Indianerna so that he can ride for both About Max, my opinion was the same as yours after last year's season but after seeing him in Smederna's meeting this season where he rode very well both as reserve and as 1-4 i think he will do more then ok as 1-5 in Allsvenskan.

Ofcourse Max is good enough for Allsvenskan, no question about it.

Yes, I don't doubt that, just thought with their aspirations they might be looking for a shake-up, and someone better. As for Zorro and the Indianerna/Bikab agreement - well, yes, he might like to ride for them then, but I can't see him moving back to Smederna as his main team unless there are watertight assurances he'll be paid.

Ornarna take a 10 point lead to Hagfors tonight, after beating Valsarna, 53-43 in the Allsvenskan final. A fantastic night for Mikael Max (who must have seen my post and wanted to prove me wrong ) going through the card with an 18 point maximum for the home team, although Thomas H Jonasson had a disappointing result, and should do much better tonight. Could be a very close final to see which team are offered a place in the Elitserien for 2010.

Could be a very close final to see which team are offered a place in the Elitserien for 2010. And it couldn't get any closer, as a tied score on aggregate takes us into "sudden death".

I know as much as you at the moment, I'm not a member and haven't been in touch with people at the club for a while.
