Looks like the rumours that AJ is back are true: www.ajracing.se/page.php?item=398I think some people are having trouble reading it with IE7 (I hate updating things and am putting off upgrading as long as I can) so the relevant paragraph quoted is: "Since the beginning of July I take up BEL representing the Lakeside Hammers. I feel I need more ride to move into high gear. I heard this piece of news had already appeared on the internet but not a long time ago it was still just a rumour. Now it's a fact." A while ago I posted a possible team on the BSF and asked if it was within the points limit, but had no answer. I wonder how far away with that team I was: Jonsson Shields KK JK Hefenbrock Lubos Tomicek Messing

I hope its true anyway, a mighty fine rider and his form can only improve with the additional rides in the BEL. Well done AJ for Saturday.

Could an announcement be imminent? John Cook will be live on Talksport from 4:30 tomorrow (Saturday.) From: www.lakesidehammers.com

Tonight’s Lakeside programme has Jon Cook stating that it was somewhat inappropriate for the Jonsson signing to be announced by another media outlet, however, the suit has been made and exciting times are ahead, or words to that effect.

Exciting times ahead when Jonsson deigns to turn up, certainly. But, how often will he do that? That was and remains the big question mark over Jonsson and the Elite League.

However, I think it would be a severe mistake to ditch Henning Bager, I'd rather see Hefe go, he's done almost nothing since the first couple of meetings and he seems very uncomfortable in the main body of the team.

Sube, I'm sure you'd agree that young Stanley's friendship with Andreas was instrumental in him agreeing to ride for The Hammers. That being the case, I doubt very much if Andreas will "do the dirty" on him and miss meetings on a whim.

I know that he and young stanley got on very well together during his stint at Arena Essex last season. But I also know that Jonsson went missing on a couple of occasions during that stint. I do think young stanley's about the only guy who could tempt Jonsson back to these shores.

What's the latest on Andreas? Haven't heard anything for a while. The Lakeside website is reporting that Andreas will return to the team tomorrow at Wolverhampton.

Not good times for the Hammers who are talking to Kasprzak about his performance on Monday and have advised Andreas to take a break. He's not riding in Sweden tonight either but Lakeside will operate R/R for him.

I'm really struggling with all this.
At the start of the season, all the right things were happening; dynamic new promotion, a new look team that looked certain to drag Lakeside off the bottom of the league, even a new name just to make sure the new broom had swept really clean.
In the beginning, there was no talk of play-offs or anything grand, just a year of steady improvement, consolidation and a three year plan that might see the team do something really good in 2009.
Now, a few months down the road, Lakeside are looking like a mid table finish (a major improvement over the last two years) and a team that looked comfortable with itself, even though it had hit some injury problems early on.
Then the dreaded P word starts being bandied around and all of a sudden, the team is being broken up and is finally completely unsettled by the rather unnecessary arrival of a GP rider, someone I'm not convinced is entirely welcome amongst the fans and, even worse, is carrying an injury bad enough that he now needs to be rested after just one full meeting.
Looks like the three year plan has turned into a three month one, and I can't see any good coming of it.
