Well on the basis of last night's British Final, I would go for:
Lee Richardson (c) Chris Harris Edward Kennett Tai Woffinden Lewis Bridger
I think they are the best five Brits at the moment. Four of them reached the final last night, while the fifth (Bridger) only faded as he is carrying a very nasty injury which will clear by the time of Peterborough and Leszno.

What, no global superstar? Realistically, that's not going to happen, is it? The upper echelons of the sport in this country, the powers that think they are, will always have the global superstar in the team. I'd be astonished if he isn't there.

Why Richardson, by the way? After all, this was your considered opinion not that long ago: Well, Lee Richardson should be out after last year in any case - he was completely crap.

Sube, he convinced me last night that he's turned over a new leaf. He was even coming from behind in the odd race. Anyway, would you agree with my five picks?

He's no longer amongst our five best riders - so why should he be in our team? I notice that young Hatcham is keeping a low profile, following the latest humiliation of his favourite rider.

Anyway, would you agree with my five picks? Well, I wouldn't argue with them. But, then again, I'm not that bothered.

Nicholls will be in the team no matter what happened last night but Im sure it must have giving the GB boss food for thought. So if we take it that Nicholls and Harris are in who makes up the other three, for me it should be Richardson,Kennett and Woffinden.
