Forsberg won't be returning to the Aces side for this one. He rode in a challenge meeting in Vetlanda at the weekend and scored: B Forsberg..2,3,1,2 = 8

Actually, I've just triple-checked the dates here and the Swedish meeting was on Saturday 18th. Why can't Billy ride tonight? We've been told his hand injury hasn't fully healed just yet. I can't fathom our promotion out. They do great things in the community to try and get supporters through the gates but it's when they get through the gates it all seems to go wrong. The bread and butter speedway stuff they just can't seem to get right. I can't even allow them the excuse of 'they're still learning'. Morton and Pairman have been around long enough to know how it works whilst David Gordon just seems to throw money blindly at things. Get the track sorted, give us a half decent team riding in the correct order and the fans will come. At least the programmes decent.

We've been told his hand injury hasn't fully healed just yet. Ah I see, it's one of those injuries that gets better depending on which country he's riding in. And before I get jumped on for being a keyboard commando or something, hats off to Jarek who was riding in Poland last night, will be here in England tonight, and is scheduled to be riding in Sweden tomorrow against the likes of Crump. That's a lot of travelling.

And in the end Bager filled in for Forsberg again, helping the Aces to a healthy advantage ahead of the return leg at the Kremlin in Moscow on Orwell: BELLE VUE..531..K Kasprzak..3,3,3,3,3 = 152..J Wright..2',2',2,2' = 8+33..C Gjedde..2,2,3,3,1 = 114..H Bager..0,0,2',1' = 3+25..U Ostergaard..3,3,2,1 = 96..J Grajczonek..3,0,0 = 37..P Hougaard..1,0,0,1,2 = 4IPSWICH..401..J Hampel..1,3,6,0,2 = 122..M Risager..0,1,3,1 = 53..T Kroner..1,1',1,2 = 5+14..D King..3,T,0,3,0 = 65..P Swiderski..1',1,0,2 = 4+16..D Stachyra..0,0,1 = 17..C Wilkinson..2,2,2,1,0,0 = 7Taken from: www.speedwayupdates.proboards103.comObviously a good show from most of the Aces, although a little bit of a poor performance from Hougaard. But poor performances all around for the Witches, apart from a solid show from Carl Wilkinson.

Will fill y'all in with a report tomorrow (been along day so am off to hit the sack now) but comedy moment came when heat 5 was stopped because 'the riders are complaining of dirt on the tracks'.
That's how it was genuinely announced over the tannoy. A huge ironic cheer followed. It was hilarious. Poor Ken Wrench.

Good meeting last night only spoiled by that idiot Flint constantly pissing about at the starts. It was either green light go or green light, wait a while, go and then call it back for an unsatisfactory start. Track looked ok but needed more watering as it was a very hot day (yes, the sun does occasionally come out up North). The outsides looked a little dry but the inside was wet (ish) and grippy.
Kasprzak was awesome for the Aces (and opposed to the posts on the BSF, he's a long way to go before he's as dominant as JC round Kirky Lane). Winning races from the gate, from the back and won heat 15 when he had no right to as on the second lap he was third behind both Hampel and Gjedde. James Wright was much improved on his last showing for the Aces. He and Kasprzak look a decent pairing at home and he was only denied a paid maximum by losing out to Risager in heat 8. Charlie Gjedde was just the Charlie Gjedde we've come to know at Belle Vue. Started slow with two second places followed by two wins and a third. Made hard work of heat 9 taking 3 laps to pass Stachrya. Henning Bager had an off night (and admitted to me afterwards when I spoke to him) but was looking better later on in the meeting. Ulrich Ostergaard looked a lot better last night. Made 2 great gates in his first 2 rides and produced a great pass on Hampel in heat 13 when he was right out by the fence. Josh Grajczonek had a superb first ride but did nothing after that, though he shouldn't have been replaced in heat 14. Hougaard had a real off night. Gated really slow in heat 2 and had a struggle to keep Stachrya behind him. Fell in his next outing (and took an age to get his bike off the track) and then had an EF in his third ride. Didn't warrant the nod over Grajczonek in heat 14 IMO.
Jarek Hampel looked super smooth and fast when out in front but when behind didn't look arsed. Proved this in heat 13 when once passed by Ostergaard proceeded to pop wheelies for the remainder of the race. Morten Risager was barely noticeable bar winning heat 8. Tobias Kroner was pretty much the same as Risager. Daniel King looked great in heat 3. Got conned by Ostergaard in heat 7 though as he ploughed through the tapes. Tailed off badly in his third ride but was miles out in front in heat 14. Swiderski had a night to forget. Did nothing of note bar putting Stachrya in the fence. Stachrya wasn't as bad as folk have made out. Was always on the pace and didn't get tailed off as badly as I thought he would be. He rode a blinder in heat 9 to keep Gjedde and Bager behind him for 3 laps (similar to Michal Rajkowski last season when he kept Chris Harris and Billy Janniro behind him for 3 laps). He seemed to know where Gjedde was coming from on every bend and moved his bike accordingly. Charlie had to keep going wider and wider to build up the speed and cut back on bend 4 lap 3 to steam up the inside of him. This fazed Stachrya a bit as he then wobbled a bit on bends 1 and 2 of lap 4. Bager gained ground and then passed him on the back straight of the last lap. Wilkinson was solid for Ippo last night. Looked really good on the bike but faded in his later rides.
With out away form so far I'm not too sure 13 points is going to be enough to see us through to a second round clash with the Pirates.

Thanks for that honest assesment youngy, not often Piotr has an off night, but all riders are allowed one .(aren't they???) People are giving Dawid a lot of stick, but as you say he is not as bad as his scores make him out to be, and I'm hoping that going to all these new tracks will give him the experience and confidence quite soon, he is so keen, and this is all a new experience for him as he is very inexperienced in travel full stop. I feel fortunately for us Hougard had an off night, as with him firing it could have been much worse for us, as your boys seemed pretty solid throughout. Incidently, apparently Chris Louis was taken to hospital to have stitches in a finger wound done whilst he was spannering for Morten, so he missed the meeting

He wasn't the worst Witches rider on show last night Badge. Give him time and, maybe, he could become a useful reserve.
The incident with Chris must have happened during the meeting as he was busy in the pits up until 7pm (the time we're asked to clear the pit area) working on a few of the riders bikes. John Louis was there too deep in conversation with Ken Eyre. Finally...how feckin tall is Pete Simmons. First time I've seen him in the flesh and, jeez, he's one tall fella.
One final thing. Rob B's report over on the BSF is accurate bar his point regarding Hougaard. He states that had Hougaard rode better then the the score would have been higher. What he's failed to mention is that had Swiderski rode like he can do then the score would have been a lot closer.

Chris was on the radio tonight, and apparently there was a bit of a panic for heat 1, and in the rush, he cut the end of his finger off in Morten's sprocket ....ouch!!!
