www.planet-f1.comLewis Hamilton will reportedly escape further punishment from the FIA for his part in the Australian GP 'misleading' saga - but McLaren will not. Hamilton and his McLaren team were excluded from the Australian GP results after it emerged that the Brit and his team manager Dave Ryan had "mislead" the race when giving evidence into the incident with Jarno Trulli. Hamilton subsequently apologised for his "huge mistake" while sporting director Dave Ryan was suspended by the team. And although the incident has already cost the team six World Championship points - and a loss of face - it could yet cost them even more, although Hamilton looks set to avoid further sanctions. According to a report in The Times newspaper, a FIA source says 'the view developing in the organisation was that while Hamilton, who has apologised for his part in deceiving the stewards of the race in Melbourne at two separate hearings, had paid his price, the team had yet to be held to account. 'The FIA believes that McLaren, who were fined a record $100 million for cheating in 2007, are still infected by a culture of dishonesty and the organisation wants to see clear steps taken to eradicate it.' It remains to be seen, though, what punishment McLaren could face, if any, should they be called before the FIA's World Motor Sport Council for the third time in two years.

Ferrari, meanwhile, are infected by a culture of stupidity. And, as the great gonzo doctor once said: "In a closed society where everybody's guilty, the only crime is getting caught. In a world of thieves, the only final sin is stupidity."

Ferrari, meanwhile, are infected by a culture of stupidity. You won't find me arguing. They're like the Labour party at the moment - their own worst enemies.

Well, they're not going to stop them racing (people have differing views on Lewis Hamilton, but his presence does add value to a Grand Prix). But I wouldn't be surprised to see them thrown out of the Constructors' Championship again.

Anyway, I ALWAYS wind you up regarding Schumacer. You should be used to it by now.
