IMG is expanding, and as a result BSI hope to be running GPs in Australia and New Zealand within 5-6 years, with preliminary plans to add a race in the USA or Asia It's all been heard several times before though, and bar a solitary and financially disasterous GP in Australia, it's all yet to come to fruition. I think it's just a bit of PR spin to keep interest in what by all accounts has been a tedious SGP series this season. Whilst Sweden, Denmark, Poland and Britain are struggling, the GP series is getting stronger. Only in BSI's and Phil Rising's dreams I suspect.

I cannot believe the GP's will be expanding, this year's have been borefest after borefest dished up and something needs to be done to shake the original format up and cut down not increase the damn things. Alledgedly we have the top 15 riders in the world competing and yet we get no competitive racing, and absolute rubbish tracks.

Nothing wrong with the tracks, badger, it's the Olsen treatment and the wet weather which has spoiled the spectacle this year. Had it been the usual Malilla track we'd have seen at least one Swede in the final.

Fundamentally though, seeing much the same few riders over 11 rounds year-after-year gets tedious after a while. To be honest, I've always found individual racing to be pretty one dimensional, and only something to watch when one of your team's riders is in the field. Some of the team racing rules can be pretty arcane and at times bizarre, but they do make for more variety and add a tactical dimension that can rescue otherwise boring meetings. Just look at how much more interesting SWC meetings usually are compared to GPs.
