What his 7 points ? where apart from beating Hampel in heat 1 the only two riders from the side expected to finish bottom he beat were Wilkinson and Risager. Last season Nicholls went there twice and scored 15 and 12

Still, Hatcham, why don't you carry on criticiisng an emerging British youngster if that's how you get your kicks. Personally I want to see the likes of Woffinden & Barker go on and succeed where the likes of Nicholls have failed. I like to see the Brits do well - shame some people just want to knock our up-and-coming lads.

Your clutching at straws Genghis, obviously you've realized another argument has been lost, as you are well aware, i try to not knock any up and coming riders, regardless of their nationality and i dont dislike Barker, hopefully the lad will continue to improve and have a successful and safe career, but for you to suggest that he should replace Nicholls, now, is absolutely LAUGHABLE, and you know it. Be a man and just admit you are incapable of sensible comment regarding Britains number 1 because you feel personally aggrieved that he missed the ELRC

but for you to suggest that he should replace Nicholls, now, is absolutely LAUGHABLE, and you know it. Why it's laughable? Nicholls scored 4 out of 18 available points at Coventry last year in the World Cup - I feel, given the chance, Barker would better that figure. At least, he'd go out there and try, which Nicholls didn't do at Brandon last year, quite disgraceful for the national captain. Why track riders like Nicholls who don't give a shit what they do for their country? He's failed - it's time for other riders to be given a chance.

Schumi, Barker passed Iversen from behind last Friday and looked far more competitive than team-mate Sitera. That's just two of the riders Nicholls failed to beat. Yes, Barker might struggle, but surely it's better to blood him and give him a chance, rather than let Nicholls to arse about, not be bothered and score 4 for us again.

Nicholls had an absolute shocker that night i agree, but then he is not that good, where ever or when ever have i said any different ? Nicholls is second rate and Team GB are third rate, but that doesn't mean you replace our best rider with a lesser rider, what you have to do is suck it up, take it on the chin and do your best. If you put out an inferior side all that will happen is we'll get battered by an even bigger margin. Showing examples of Nicholls failings and weaknesses is absolutely pointless, the fact remains, sad as it may be Nicholls is currently Britains number 1, and nobody can come up with any argument to bring that into question, so yes, Genghis, to suggest Britains number 1 should not be in a team of 5 is laughable.

Hatcham - but there's a British Final between now and the World Cup. If Nicholls finishes to fail in the top five at Wimborne Road, would you agree that Nicholls should be dropped from the British side?

Cov were very good tonight. I wouldn't about Barker and Wells will need time at reserve to find his feet. If Frampton can keep producing like that, they will be top four.
Belle Vue weren't much cop - although Wright impressed me for having some balls to actually put some effort in and Kasprzak did well bar the one heat where he cocked himself up.

If Nicholls finishes to fail in the top five at Wimborne Road, would you agree that Nicholls should be dropped from the British side? My position is quite clear Genghis, feel free to trawl back and read all my Nicholls posts if you are in doubt, but here goes i'll tell you again. Nicholls does not warrant a place in the GP's, but as Britain is gifted two spots, its quite right he gets one of them. I feel Nicholls was(possibly) shafted by British speedway and its various promoters this year, however i feel his departure from the league was a case of 'cutting off his nose..etc'. With his overseas form being so poor, him being somewhat out of his depth in the GP's, and Team GB being out of their depth in the world cup, the Elite league was his one confidence boosting avenue of success, i feel his self exile is a huge mistake and one he will regret. IF he was to fail miserably in the British championship, and that was combined with a poor showing in other competitions and leagues, then nobody, me, you or Nicholls himself could complain at being dropped.
