But aren't you the one who keeps banging on about how Crump has had more GP wins than Pedersen? If so, how can you be so outraged at this.......even though it removes the small amount of public interest still left in F1?

Kev, but you can't decide the whole championship on race wins - it's a nonsense. And it means the exciting climax to last year's race would have never have happened. Ecclestone has completely lost his fucking marbles this time.

What a load of bloody stupid nonsense. Michael agrees with you. Or you agree with him - whichever makes it more palatable for you. www.planet-f1.com/story/0,18954,3213_5072965,00.html

All they need to do was to go back to the system used between 1985 and 1990, when only the best 11 scores counted. That stopped drivers settling for position, especially as the season approached its climax.

Can't say it particularly bothers me, genghis. There are worse things in the world to worry about at the moment.

You know, maybe British Speedway isn't so badly run after all. F1 is far worse, and it's a multi-million pound industry. What a bloody farce - anoouncing the new regulations before the teams had approved them.

What a bloody farce - anoouncing the new regulations before the teams had approved them. The FIA were clearly trying to present it as a fait-accompli, but the teams were having none of it. The whole business about being deferred until 2010 is undoubtedly a face saving exercise, and what's the betting the idea is now quietly dropped?

Wibblemuis - I would think it's almost certain that there will be a new scoring system in place in 2010, and almost equally certain that it won't be Ecclestone's "wins only" idea.
