A possible future Pirate? He is, of course, the son of Lars Gunnestad (without the Daniel) who had two spells spells at Wimborne Road (1993-1998 and 2000-2002) and was hugely popular. And he's signed a contract to ride for KM Ostrow in Poland: www.sportowefakty.pl/zuzel/2009/01/31/lars-daniel-gunnestad-w-km-ie/I'm sure that young Ford will be keeping an eye on the young fellow. And if the young fellow does eventually find himself at Wimborne Road, I'm sure that young squirlie will be hoping he brings his father along so that she can keep an eye on him.

Yes with those who never travelled to away matches Hatcham, Gunnestad was also popular with fans of other teams, due to his.. ahem.. "form" at those aforementioned away tracks.

Not quite sure what Hatcham and Genghis are referring to - Lars was a great servant to the team and in many peoples eyes a truer Mr Poole than a certain Australian who only rode half his career for us. I don't remember him as being selective in his appearances - certainly not in the peak of his career. Or have I mis-interpreted what you mean? Sube - think you'll find that Matt is keeping a very close eye on the Lars the Younger. Lars is godfather to Matt's own son so it's a close relationship going back years. There was an article a year or so back, a copy of which I found here hinting at a future link. If he;s anything like his dad, he'll be a right chip off the old block, and hopefully we'll get to see the original Lars at Wimborne Rd a few times - he's aging well
