Where in the world pecking order does the King of British speedway feature ?
The Hatcham verdict is: among the worlds top 16, but not good enough to make the top 10.
Any thoughts ?

Maybe sneaks into the world's top twenty, but that's about it. Unless you're talking about ability to come up with excuses, if you are, he's the world's best.

I'm not just going to reel off twenty names, this requires thought and consideration. But you have Adams, the global superstar, Harris and Shields too high and Hampel too low. And where is the semi-weird Walasek? He out-performed the global superstar in Poland and in the SWC.

Yes he should be in there. I just realised I've also missed out Troy Butler, Mick Poole, Martin Goodwin and Mick Fletcher. I think I need to make it a top 30. EDIT: And I missed out Armando Castagna and David Steen. FURTHER EDIT: And I'll let Bruce Penhall have a place as well. YET ANOTHER EDIT: And how did I forget Leigh Adams and Lukas Dryml. I think that's 30 now.

Is it present, past or both. And what are we judging on? Skill on a bike or achievements?

I think I need to make it a top 30. A frontal lobomoty would probably do you more good - the Branneys in the top ten is just sick. Is it present past both. And what are we judging on? Skill on a bike or achievements? It's present, ignore genghis. Mind you, Armando Castagna still rides occasionally and even dead he'd be better than the Branneys.
