I thoroughly enjoyed that. Well played to the Russians, excellent all round display.
The amount of ability Sayfutdinov has just continues to amaze, he's mustard!
No malice in the Laguta/Pedersen incident but it does demonstrate how desperately this system needs team reserves. I would limit them to 3 rides max, use at any time.

Well done Russia, throroughly deserved. Hope Nicki P's burns aren't too bad, although as usual it was a shocker of a decision from Wojaczek - what exactly did Laguta do wrong??

Brilliant result for Russia tonight. That shocked everyone.
Hope Nicki is OK. 50/50 decision although the Russian was in front.

Just considering the implications and ramifications of this result and I can see Denmark missing out on Thursday. Nicki P is going to be missing, Andersen's fitness will be a doubt and the Dullard and Iversen are performing poorly. And in spite of all the waffle about Erik Gundersen and the superb youth system in Denmark, there isn't a whole lot of quality outside of the favoured team. I think they'll struggle to make the final against Sweden and either Poland or Australia (and should Britain shock the world on Monday, Poland and Australia).

TBH, I think that the reason Laguta got thrown out was because he lifted and lost control for a split second. Probably if he had just ridden across normally to that line he would have been let back in by Wojaczek.

Bloody awful decision, but we should know from Cardiff last year that Wojaczek is an incompetent prick.

I thought it was a 50/50 and agree that the fact Laguta lifted slightly probably sealed his fate.

Yeah, that was my point. It was a really tough one to call, and when the replays showed Greg lifting, I instantly thought....that's him gone.

By the way, I notice that Lindback is still hopeless when the pressure is on - wins his last race when everything is decided and it's all meaningless.

Well, five heats down and poor racing, but the Russian cat is certainly among the pigeons. For all the talk of Denmark winning this easily, none of the Danish "big guns" are in particularly good form, especially the Dullard.[/b] If you mean Bjarne Pedersen, he has been in poor form all year, Subedei. By the way, the World Cup is also my favourite competition.

Russia winning in Vojens should make the P'boro leg more entertaining, as teams will want to avoid the race-off now. Worst case scenario for Sweden if Great Britain win round 2. If either Australia or Poland win, the race-off looks pretty good for us with the danes badly weakened and brits usually not much to fear on Polish soil.

The Danes probably wouldn't have won last night even if the unfortunate Nicki P hadn't been injured.
Iversen & Bjarne Pedersen weren't good enough, simple as that.

Well, I've watched it and watched it and then watched it again: www.youtube.com/watch?v=CA4ipInsYb0And I still can't see why Laguta was excluded. Okay, he lifts a little, but he is never out of control - Nicki P just simply gets himself into a bad place on the track and keeps going for a gap that was never there.
