Since the global superstar has not accepted his punishment from the FIM (who would seriously think that the global superstar would - after all, he's entitled to do anything he damn well feels like), I guess it'll be a very cold day in hell before we get an apology from the British No 6. Don't know if it's the heat but I had this strange thought pop into my head. GS is not doing well in GPs but apparently is contracted to compete in all of them. GS lands a fine, refuses to pay, gets banned from the rest of the series. Simples

Overall though, it a great day. Great to meet up with everyone at the POW and then it was probably one of the best meetings at Cardiff, with the temporary track holding out for a change. I agree - it was a fantastic day - didn't want it to end ! Nice to meet both you and Paulco finally too !! Hi Zonkers, it was nice to meet you and the rest of your clan as well.

And jolly good fun it is on there. I've never seen a speedway clip with so many comments.

Made it to Cardiff in the end, great day out even if we did have to dump the car at Newport and get the train in due to the traffic.
Enjoyable meeting and a masterclass from Mr Crump. 2009 definately looks to be his year, was never a fan of his upto a few years ago, but am hoping he goes on to win the championship this season and adds a couple more to it afterwards.
Great handbags after heat 5. Can't really blame Nicholls for not wanting to pay the fine, imo he did nothing wrong during the race and didn't instigate the trouble afterwards. Maybe if he had got to smack Holloway jnr the $500 may have seemed worth it.
Best bit of the day though was getting 2 upper tier tickets on home straight for £35 off a tout. Fanstastic view and could probably have got them cheaper if I'd tried a bit harder but they were effectively half price anyway so more than happy. Ticket master et all can shove their booking & postage fees in future.

Didn't think the traffic was too bad at all - we managed to drive right in no problem.... Someone has told me that next years date is 10th July.....? Can't believe it will be that late....! It's always been in June, hasn't it? Suppose we'll find out tonight!

I thoroughly enjoyed Sky's coverage of the GP and I agree the track seemed so much better than in previous years.
Jason Crump was head and shoulders above everyone. The refereeing once again was inconsistent and as much as I don't like Nicki Pedersen he wasn't treated the same way as the other riders who were brought down.
As for Emil Sayfutdinov and his thuggish behaviour! I am not a fan of Scott Nicholls but in heat five he was hard but fair on Sayfutdinov who after the race was spoling for a fight with his digraceful behaviour. A huge talent maybe but his management need to reel him in a bit as well as drawing their own neck in too. Ashley Holloway should have been booted out of the pits for his attack on Nicholls.

EMIL Sayfutdinov’s camp have defended their decision to lend Hans Andersen a bike for the latter stages of the British Grand Prix, claiming it helped the Russian hang on to second spot overall.
Sky commentator and former world number three Kelvin Tatum admitted “it’s quite staggering to me” when he saw television pictures of the teenager’s mechanics working on a bike for Poole Castle Cover’s star.
Loaning bikes among team-mates is common practice in league racing, but is rare in the white hot cauldron of individual World Championship racing, although not against the rules.
So there was some surprise when Andersen hopped on Sayfutdinov’s bike for the semi-final after his own machine’s engine had “slowly seized” during his fifth qualifying outing.
The Russian’s manager Tomasz Suskiewicz said: “I think it’s alright to loan a bike.
“Hans has the same engine tuner as Emil. He’s a good friend so that’s why we helped him. I’m sure he’ll help us back when we need it.
“It was no problem. We even helped him to do a handlebar change and other smaller adjustments.
“He liked that engine. It was working really well for him. We’re delighted he got third because he helped us in the final by beating Greg Hancock.
“It means we’re still second overall behind Jason Crump.”
Suskiewicz said Sayfutdinov had been fined $600US and Scott Nicholls $500US by an FIM Jury for their parts in an ugly on-track punch-up at Cardiff. www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport

I'm not sure about this loaning bikes, to be honest. It'll be interesting to see if Andersen "assists" Sajfutdinov in a dubious way somewhere down the line. For example, in a tight fight for the semi-finals impeding a rival of the Russian's.
