I have nothing against Hans. It's Emil's team I think are pathetic. Who gives someone a high five for taking out another rider? And if you think I'm over-reacting, I'm one of the only pro-Nicki posters, and I've read a lot of nasty remarks lately, with no comment. But if Emil's going down the devious road (and he may not be, I'm only responding to posts here) I think that says more about his own mentality than anything else. Is he really as great a rider as everyone's saying? Well maybe they're pissed at Nicki for spreading rumours about Emil's machinery to mess with the young guys head? Well that's completely grasped from the air, but it's just as likely as most conspiracy theories flying around. Anyway, Hans never took Nicki out so high-fiving Hans for getting the ref's decision when Nicki tried to exclude Hans isn't such a crime. Nor is lending him a bike when he had nothing to ride on. I do think you are overreacting and I've been posting tongue in cheek tonight. No hard feelings, aye? I hope not I agree, if Hans didn't have a bike good enough for the semi's he had to go 'cap in hand', and Emil was the obvious first choice. From Emil's point of view he had nothing to lose, and now Andersen owes him a favour, as for the conspiracy theories ? what a load of bollocks, why would he need to shaft Pedersen this season ? Pedersen is looking very poor and will be lucky to finish in the top four.

No hard feelings, aye? I hope not Of course not. Yes, but only because once again Pedersen comes across the track when he is not far enough ahead. Correct decision from the ref. So was Harris correctly excluded? Yes, and he knows it, he even raised his hand to apologize live on TV

Yes, and he knows it, he even raised his hand to apologize live on TV Chris Harris is a most humble and dignified rider. He said nothing when Nicholls took him out and cost him a place in the top 8 in 2007. I believe he was apologising for not being in the final, not admitting liability. And I couldn't care less whose bike Hans was on. Emil's team have been out of order all night - you even said it yourself in the case of Nicholls. They've had digs at Nicki since the second GP - fair enough if they're not going to be hypocrites, but come on...

Enjoyed the GP tonight.....wonder why? Well done Crumpie. Class showed in the end although with some dough on Hancock at 8/1 I wouldn't have grumbed had he won. Emil needs to grow up a little. He's been a fantastic addition to the GP's but he was out of order, IMO, with Nicholls. He's going to b involved in a lot tougher races than that if he wants to become World Champion. Brits were steady if unspectacular. As per usual Nicholls has one good Cardiff ride. Harris lacked speed but used his head on occasions when out in front or point scoring positions. Kennett, as I thought, was a little out of his depth and scored what I predicted he would. Roll on the World Cup.

I'm not going to be too hard on Sajfutdinov, although it may put my pods at risk of serious injury. He felt he was hard done to by the global superstar, I don't happen to think he was. The global superstar was caught up in a similar happening last season with Dryml - pushing and shoving on the bikes after the race. For the after race incidents I thought both were culpable. For the other goings-on, it seems that if anyone in the Sajfutdinov camp needs to do some "growing up" it's among his back-up team. I saw them showing the young fellow heading for the showers, so thought maybe it was his team that agreed to let Andersen use his machinery, rather than the Russian himself, who only appeared - showered and changed - during the third running of the semi-final.

Well I thought Andersen went down like a girl. After all he was out of control when he rode into Bomber's dirt deflector, whereas in the re-run he just went straight, and (can't believe I'm saying this ) poor Nicki hardly slid off like a girl when Hans rode into him. The ref should have put all 3 back, or if he wanted to be consistent then Andersen should have gone. However great GP though, apart from the lousy musak that Coventry's berk thinks is entertainment Immaculate from Jason, and great result from Freddie

Sentencing the riders...
Nicki Pedersen: It's just not his year: I think he's just about given the season up as a bad job. Jason Crump: Magisterial. Tomasz Gollob: A rare decent Cardiff performance from the great man. Greg Hancock: Failed in the final, again. Hans Andersen: A huge improvement on his previous form this season which gives him something to build upon. Leigh Adams: Very poor; the end is surely nigh for "Mr Clean". Andreas Jonsson: Poor stuff from Jonsson, who is steadily slipping down the rankings, as is his habit. Rune Holta: A bit of a weird day for Holta, but it ended with him failing to make the semis. Scott Nicholls: One good race, but otherwise poor. Fredrik Lindgren: A very good GP from the sausagemeister. Chris Harris: Made the semis, but that's about it. Kenneth Bjerre: Was generally anonymous. Grzegorz Walasek: Abject and totally devoid of any weirdness. Sebastian Ulamek: Started well, faded badly but managed to make the semis where he upset his Polish compatriot Gollob. Emil Sajfutdinov: Will probably not remember his Cardiff debut with much fondness, but amid all the controversy and fisticuffs, he very nearly made the semis. Edward Kennett: No improvement over last season for Mr Fidget and he didn't ever look like he belonged in the GPs.

The exclusions of both Harris and Pedersen in the second semi-final were completely wrong. Both should have been all four back at the verty least, although maybe Hans Andersen was guilty was both, especially the first one when he lost control and then laid it down after Harris had no choice but to hit him. The referee is a plank - it was obvious that Andersen did a dying swan act. Overall though, it a great day. Great to meet up with everyone at the POW and then it was probably one of the best meetings at Cardiff, with the temporary track holding out for a change.

And congratulations to Jason Crump who celebrated his record 21st Grand Prix win (making him the most successful rider since the inception of the Grand Prix in 1995) with one of the most dominant performances you are likely to see. Crump is head and shoulders over the rest, when he's in the right frame of mind, nobody can touch him. EDIT: Schumi, you're a champion searcher, could you do me a favour? Kevin Howse (a local Oxford lad) finished second in the third round of the European Veteran Longtrack Championship in Drammen, Norway yesterday. Can you see if you can find the latest championship standings - Kev thinks he's now second but he's not sure. Thanks very much.
