I've had a look today at the Belle Vue Team, because I couldn't remember who they'd got this year ....I know as this is a home meeting some would say we should win this comfortably, but it all depends on which Stead, Schlein, Harris, Burza and Messing turn up I suppose With Billy's fire power at the moment I wonder if he can actually beat Crumpie this time round? Now that would be sweet.. BELLE VUE (38.72) 1 Jason Crump.....10.31 2 Charlie Gjedde.....7.13 3 Joe Screen.....6.45 4 Billy Forsberg.....4.00 6 Lukasz Jankowski..... 4.00 5 Steve Boxall.....3.73 7 Michal Rajkowski.....3.10 8 Robert Ksiezak

Not enough back up for Crump for Belle Vue to trouble Bees. Schlein and Stead will be particularly up for this match for obvious reasons.

It's not looking good on the weather front, it's absolutely chucking it down here and has been on and off since the early hours. It's not forecast to stop until a good bit later either... Alot more hopeful now as we haven't had any rain for an hour or so..still it depends on how wet the track is I suppose, come on you big yellow beauty, do your best..

I hope it will go ahead as it is degrees milder today than the first three matches. Sun out here just now and 11 degrees.
I will be lurking in my usual place at the foot of the steel stairs between start line and 30 metres sitting between races on my strange folding stool because of my wonky right knee. Unless crowded out between quiet Clive and noisier Geoff the shoe shop man.
On the next fine day I will get some pics of the little Bretford cycle speedway track which is a mile as the crow flies from the Stadium back fence.

And this was a comfortable win for the Bees (54:39), with only Jason Crump offering serious resistance, scoring 15 points (including a 6 pointer) from his five rides. The folly of Belle Vue's team building was cruelly exposed, with the next highest scorer, Charlie Gjedde, managing just 7 points from five rides. And there could be even worse news for the Aces, with Boxall withdrawing from the meeting injured after a Ht 8 crash. For the Bees there were solid performances all around, with even Messing scoring a handy 5 points from four rides. But the oppostion was poor - very poor.

It was very pleasant to meet Jacques and Cousteau for the first time during the match.
In the upstairs bar after the match some of my pals were expressing boredom and dissatisfaction with tonight's efforts by the mighty Bees.
What more do they want? Unable to understand their ravings I ignored them and went for a chat with Jimmy Mac and then talked to others about the newly completed Bretford cycle speedway track which is 1 mile from the stadium. More later on that subject.

More later on that subject. I can't believe people were moaning at that performance, it was a great meeting, considering the track had taken a considerable ammount of rain... Some great performances tonight, good to see Bomber looking sharper, Olly was superb again and should have been out in heat 15 instead of Schlein, the reserves looking a lot better too..I can see Stan becoming a bit of a favourite, great rider and so much spirit.. now for monday and the return of Scott Nicholls.

Someone will doubtless put me right but with the odd exception Rory is a disaster in heat 15. Or at least, so my mate Geoff says...
I am so agog with expectation for Monday that I may even go to Arlington tonight just to see the Panthers get it.

Anyway you forgot to mention that I introduced you to Robert, which surprises me really as he's not easily forgotten...in fact he's like the proverbial bad penny... ;D

Thats my excuse anyway. Not easily forgotten? Bit like me then...

Yes this was a good meeting Jacques, and The Aces we're by no means outclassed & made us race for our points, unlike The Panthers,(tee hee had to get that one in ;D).
