Here's one for the real stattos among you....
Earlier this evening during an online chat with another speedway fan I stumbled upon the fact that Mariusz Okoniewski and Rafal Okoniewski had both held the track record at Leszno's Alfred Smoczyk Memorial stadium, and we debated for a few minutes over whether any other Father and Son had a similar record at a track.
The debate didn't last too long as we then noticed that the current record holder, Krzysztof Kasprzak's father also previously held the record there!!!
However, despite this early end to the debate, I am wondering if anyone knows of similar feats elsewhere (just one father and son holding the record is good enough, I would be astounded if two had done it elsewhere!)
We both thought that maybe Phil and Jason might have achieved this, but couldn't be sure....
Anyone wanna make an offer?

While you could say that Zenon and Krzyzstof Kasprzak have both held the track record at Leszno, it's harder to technically make the case for Mariusz and Rafal Okoniewski, since the track changed between the two records. Mariusz Okoniewski held track records at the Leszno track when it was 354 metres and 347 metres, while Rafal Okoniewski only held the track record during its present 342 metre configuration. The Kasprzaks have both held the record during its present 342 metre configuration. However, is it possible that the Dryml family could also come into play with some of the tracks in the Czech Republic?

Well, I was gonna let them off with that as it was the same stadium, even if the track was reconfigured a little.
I wouldn't accept a father-son track record combo at different venues, like if Mark Courtney had the track record at Berrington and Jamie had it as Shielfield (lmao...as if!!), but I would accept it at altered tracks, like if Phil Crump had it at the old Brandon configuration and Jason had it at the new one!
The Czech speedway "dynasties" are definitely a possibility, with the Drymls probably at the head of the list!

I'm sure John and Chris Louis have both been track record holder at Kings Lynn.
