I don't give a flying fuck where Johnno ends up - as long as its not Monmore! And i assume the Lakeside contingent feel the same way . Never set the heather on fire at Purfleet either , as i found out to my cost when i included him in my Speedway Star fantasy team when he was there .

Here is a statement from Mr Nicholls himself in today's Coventry Telegraph. "I've had 3 great years at Coventry,I' ve put all my energy into it & we've been rewarded with so much success & becoming the best team in the club's history last year. "I haven't fallen out with people there, the promotion treated me well throughout,& maybe i'll be back in 2009 or 1 day further in the future. "You didn't have to be a rocket scientist to work out that 1 of our top 3 were going to have to go but it still came as a surprise to get the news." I was disappointed with the way it was handled & the people involved know my opinions on that. "I don't think any of the riders or supporters agree with the new points limit & i would'nt think Sky Sports would be that impressed either, but now i have to put everything into making a success of things at Eastbourne. Their new promoter Martin Hagon is keen for success & it looks a good team.We know what Lee Richardson can do & Edward Kennett & Lewis Bridger are young kids that can come on with the right backing. "My partner Sophie has family & friends down there so hopefully she'll be able to see me race more often on Saturday nights.I have to look forward to that & hope it's a blessing in disguise for me. "I would like to thank all the fans at Coventry for the way they've got behind us all over the last 3 years. They made me feel welcome right from the start, they got the success they deserved & i'll look forward to seeing everyone when i come up to ride there for Eastbourne".
I have a few views on that. But i'm going to invite your thoughts 1st.

Would much rather watch Scotty leading the Bees, than the gating tart Schlein, but pts wise, age wise etc, this is probably the best thing for the future. Harris has to now step up to the plate as outright no.1 and team leader or we will struggle, anyway its much better to see good close meetings, than constant weekly pummellings.

And I rather think he's stretching things when he says the "best team in the club's history".

And I rather think he's stretching things when he says the "best team in the club's history". Sub - I think Coventry completed the double for the first time ever in 2007, and won the Craven Shield into the bargain, so statistically Nicholls's quote is correct.

Not forgetting the Bees had a run of 16 wins on the trot home and away, which has never been achieved before, so I'd say Scott is right as well. Still gutted from Leicester signing off.

OK, 1st of all let's look at this statement as a whole & not just in parts.Scott has said there is no falling out & wishes to be back at Brandon,so who does he mean when he says "THE PEOPLE INVOLVED KNOW MY OPINIONS" does he mean the way the Coventry management team pulled one over Ford at his expense? or does he mean ALL PROMOTERS in general for what has occured over the last few weeks?. This is why he goes on to say"I DON'T THINK ANY OF THE RIDERS OR SUPPORTERS AGREE WITH THE POINTS LIMIT,&I DON'T THINK SKY SPORTS WOULD BE TOO IMPRESSED EITHER.Scott is a total pro, so of course he'll give it 100% for The Eagles but it's not where he really wants to be, being nearer to Sophie & her family seems to be the only + here for Scott. All the positive remarks in this statement point to Brandon, the set-up ,the supporters, the rewards for the hard work. All the negatives point to the situation forced upon them by decisions made at the AGM.

Personally not reading too much into it except his disappointment at leaving Coventry. Once he gets over that and gets back on his bike in March I'm sure he'll give Eastbourne his full commitment.

I'm absolutely gutted that Scott has gone from Coventry . To me he was integral to the team and I'm feeling a bit bitter toward the Coventry Promotion at the moment,(not because they released him, but the way they've gone about it). I just wish him the best of luck at Eastbourne, I'm sure he'll be the great Team man and maybe even Captain that he was at Coventry...

Don't worry Jaques we'll look after him at Eastbourne (well i will when I'm not in Coventry). Unfortunately it sounds like he isn't going to be allowed to be the captain he was a Cov, Hagon has said it is likely Richardson will captain the Eagles, because Scotty is the captain of GB
