That Trump guy really doesn't have a very good record does he? Oxford, Mildenhall, Exeter and now Coventry.....thank gawd for Sandhu.
COVENTRY Speedway can confirm that the management of the club in 2009 will revert to Avtar Sandhu and Coventry Racing Club Ltd.
Sandhu has expressed his thanks to Allen Trump for stepping in to run the Buildbase Bees during 2008, and Trump will be continuing with the club in a co-promoter's role alongside Colin Pratt, with Pratt and Peter Oakes running the team.
Sandhu said: "Allen gained a lot of experience over the last season, and he knows the way in which a speedway club is run.
"Everything here was done properly during his year in charge, there were no problems with any payments and he always did his best for the Bees.
"We formed a good working relationship and we felt that working together next year, along with Colin and Peter, would be the best for the club, and we are determined to do as well as possible.
"Allen has represented us extremely well during recent BSPA meetings and has been working hard with Colin and Peter to help us put out the very best team possible for next season."
Sandhu has admitted that the Bees' plans have been affected by the decisions of various riders to give the Elite League a miss next season - but he is still confident of another strong season at Brandon.
He said: "It was sad to hear that Scott Nicholls would not be racing in this country, and he was obviously top of my list because of the success he's had here and the job he's done for me in the past.
"Hans Andersen, too, impressed me greatly with the professional way in which he conducted himself when he rode here last season and he would certainly be more than welcome back in the future.
"So we've had to re-adjust some of our plans and we're again looking to build for long-term success, not just for 2009 but also for 2010 when I think we could be very strong indeed.
"I would like to add, though, that I'm delighted to see Rory Schlein back with us next year, Coventry is his home and he belongs here - and I'm sure our supporters will get one or two surprises with the rest of the team."
