The Polish Squad has been announced:- THE 2009 Polish national squad has been announced and will once again be led by Tomasz Gollob. Poland finished second in the World Cup in 2008 and will be seeking to regain the title next year, when the final stages of the competition will be back on their home territory of Leszno. Gollob is joined in the squad by fellow Grand Prix riders Rune Holta, Sebastian Ulamek and Greg Walasek - in addition to ex-GP men Jarek Hampel, Wieslaw Jagus and Krzysztof Kasprzak. The riders to be selected for the World Cup are expected to come mainly from that pool, but there are others who will hope to be involved if they have a strong start to the season, with the squad also including national champion Adam Skornicki, and one of the biggest improvers from last year in Piotr Swiderski. POLAND SQUAD 2009: Tomasz Gollob, Jarek Hampel, Wieslaw Jagus, Grzegorz Walasek, Janusz Kolodziej, Krzysztof Kasprzak, Rune Holta, Sebastian Ulamek, Adrian Miedzinski, Rafal Dobrucki, Damian Balinski, Adam Skornicki, Piotr Swiderski, Adrian Gomolski, Tomasz Jedrzejak.www.speedwayworld.tv

And it looks like Polish juniors Adam Kajoch and Damian Celmer are in a bit of "hot water" after bunking off from a training session held by Polish national coach Marek Cieslak: www.sportowefakty.pl/zuzel/2009/02/26/celmer-i-kajoch-ukarani/Their possible punishment will be decided at a meeting in March. Another example of the no nonsense approach the Poles take towards discipline in the sport.
