It certainly is not 1947, that year saw the greatest two riders of all time plying their trade, as opposed to now where we cant even find a rider better than Nicki Pedersen, makes you realize how weak speedway currently is. But Ove Fundin and Ivan Mauger were both underage in 1947, while Hans Nielsen was not born until 1959. I hope you're not subscribing to the romantic nonsense that Vic Duggan is one of the greatest two riders of all-time. His league average was around 11.00, whereas Nielsen, Mauger and Fundin all registered much higher. Duggan was a great force in 1947, but not the same force as e.g. Fundin in 1961, Mauger in 1969 or Nielsen in 1986/1987, years in which those riders completely dominated the sport at both world & domestic level. And who's the other one - Jack Parker?

An average has to be taken in consideration to the opposition, which is why Leigh Adams 2009 average will always be questioned if it is 11+, and you are well aware who the other rider is Genghis.

I take a combination of league form AND World Championship form, which is how I get a top three of all-time of Fundin, Mauger and Nielsen (it's impossible to place them in any kind of order). Those three dominated complete seasons in a way no-one else did. With Duggan, Young, Briggs, Olsen, Gundersen and Rickardsson in the next batch of riders. Ah yes, I think I do realise who your second rider is, having thought about it a little further. No doubt a legendary name, Hatcham, and no doubt a giant amongst giants at New Cross, but one of the greatest two riders of all-time, are you sure?

OK, I reckon the leagues should be called: British Premier League (currently the Elite League) British League Division One (Premier League) British League Division Two (National League) British League Division Three (Academy League, which should be reinstated in the second half at all tracks) British League Division Four (second half competition involving U15 riders only) Is this incase you forget where you are in the world? Im pretty sure when watching Edinburgh Vs Newcastle i know im within the UK i dont think you need to remind every league of where they are situated. As for the current league names. i dont see why they need changed. Up until last season there was no way of a team changing between these leagues so they had to be kept completely seperate as to stop any confusion that a premier team could move up into the EL As for your suggestion this would tell any outsider looking in that division 4 is a bunch of no bodies and that long standing teams of division 1 just aint good enough to make it into the premier league. When that clearly isnt the case.
