We are looking at combining the "good old days" section of this forum with an historical section. This would be a factual exercise for the early years of speedway up until the modern day, to try to compile our own data.
If anyone is interested in helping out, or has anything they think might be useful or of interest can they please let me know or post here?

The majority of us on here were born after 1950 and don't really know too much about the early years of speedway .

As Paulco says, what kind of information are you after Schumi? Ultimately to attempt a database of all results, riders profiles, clubs etc

Okay, that's on a grander scale than I thought. But I've had an idea. I created a back-up forum to archive results and things we wanted to keep, which is basically a template of this board. Anyone who wants to help I can PM the address for it (google hasn't yet discovered it), and make up some suggested boards there. If that's okay with everyone? Then when we're done we can just copy it over and filter out anything we don't want.

Hi Schumi,
I've got various information, it's mostly Oxford-based, but mixed in together with other contributors, it would be a start.

Okay, so what would everyone want in a rider database? - Name
- D.O.B
- Nationality/birthplace
- Clubs
- Honours
Any of those, and anything else? Edit: and I'm happy to take on the Swedish Elitserien results.

A short biography would be good too.

It appears the rider database is already in production on the fabulous C D set being worked on already by Matt Jackson and his team. 1946 starters has already been marketed this year The results are already on line by the Speedway Researcher Website
